Hey,
I'm recently new to this hobby and have aquired a new 2006 Stampede.
I was wondering if anyone knew any good brushless systems for the Stampede that I could eventually get. I heard the Mamba systems were pretty good so I looked at the Castle creations wesite at the Mamba Max and at the bottom it says "NOTE: The Mamba Max Power System is NOT for use in 1/10th scale monster trucks." would it still work in the Pede?
Thanks for the help.

welcome aboard Revolt Racer!
I think they mean mt's like the e-maxx that use larger/more powerful/multiple motors. The mamba max will work in the pede no problem.

Ok thanks, now would I have to get a new ESC for it or would they both work fine together? Also do you know of any other good brushless motors?

not sure what you mean by that question, as your first post refers to "systems"....but to make sure..sorry if you already understand this........a brushless sytem is a brushless esc and brushless motor. The Mamba Max actually refers to the ESC, but is comonly used to refer to their motors too as you can buy the esc motor combo. You don't just buy a brushless motor and stick on your brushed type esc.
Although you can use a brushed motor on the mamba max esc when it is set to excpect it using the PC software.

Does anyone know of any other systems that are good for bashing and have speed because I think I might look into racing. *other than the Mamba max, what are some other options?

Revolt Racer, you want this.....

or this....

They have good service and great pricing. This is the cheapest place to get a Mamba Max system. Free shipping as well. I just got a 4600 system for my XL-5 Stampede from them and I'm going to order a 5700 system for my T4 soon.
Your other option is a Novak system which will be more money (I think around $240 on Tower and EBay). This is the cheapest Brushless system and it's very flexible. You can upgrade to Lipo batteries later on if you want. I hope this helps.

Ok thanks,
Would you know which system I should get...(Mamba Max: 4600, 5700, 6900, or the 7700).? I would like the highest speed but don't want to strip my gears.

I would stick with the 4600 or the 5700. With the 5700 you can always gear it for less speed and then move up as you get more comfortable with it. The 4600 will get you a little less speed but looooong runtimes. You should get these parts no matter which system you get. The stock idler gear will get smoked fast with brushless. The RPM Bearing Carriers will hold up much better than the stock ones which are smaller and use bushings instead of bearings. The Duratrax bearings are for the new RPM Bearing Carriers.

Yep, that's why the new version of the Stampede is quite a bit faster than the old version (which had the Stinger). :)

could someone move this to the pede thread where it belongs??

Yeah, if you guys go to the Pede thread you can find all the answers to your questions. Look for guys like BigDaddy and Z-man.
And yes, I would still do those upgrades. The Pede will be bomb proof!
