Guys I need help. I think my drivetrain in my FT TC3 has a lot of unecessary drag. I mean, I had to locktight the diffs because the screws kept coming out. Now I think it is too tight, I doubt it was ever as free as my brother's Pro 2 or my original pro! What can I do to free it up? Did I screw up the ball diffs too much? When I roll it on a flat surface with the motor still in, it jerks harshly. Could the gears not be meshing good? Do the rubber sealed bearing need more breakin? Thanks for all the help.

hey Sprite, what i think you should do is take the components of the car(i.e. gearboxes, hub carrier assy.) and give them a spin to see if their free. This means taking the car partially apart. You'll also want to check how tight your wheel nuts are, sounds crazy but my drive train dragged because the wheel hex was squished to the hub. Hope this helps ;)

Ya, the wheel nuts being to tight makes more of a difference than one would think...i try to put it so i can see a little be of the axle coming through the nylon in the nut but not much tighter...To lose is oviously very bad...

Also, the jerky feeling is the motor, most cars do that when they have a good motor in them...they lock-tite might be it...with the motor in the car it hard to tell how free the drive train is, but with it out my tc3 will roll very eaisly

Yea. I agree with TC3~Racer....Try rolling the chassis without the motor or without the pinion. It should be smooth when the motor or pinion is out.

Hope this helps

Well my diffs are really really tight, it takes a lot of force to turn them by hand. Could this be it? Do I need to remove the locktight and loosen the diffs?

There should never be ANY reason to put loctite in your diffs!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Check to ensure that you have the correct size bolt for the diff. the MIP bolts have been short in the past. I would toss your diffs with loctite in them and build new ones. Follow the instructions to the letter, and if need be ask for assistance from someone at your hobby shop. :)

P.S. Loctite has this ability to weaken plastic and composite parts. This is why your diffs are shot. Don't use loctite on your kingpins either or you will break block carriers.
