A while back I cleaned up all my car. Dusting it off and stuff like that. Ever since, my motor doesn't run. It just makes a hum and smokes.
I have a Noval Rooster Reversible, Trinity Speed Gem Onyx, and a Sanyo 1700mah battery.
How old is the motor? It could be time for a rebuild, but first, clean it. Go get some electric motor spray and take apart your motor. Clean and lube everything (remember how to put it back together, especially the endbell) but dont take out the magnets. Mark with a marker the exact position of the endbell so you put it on right and you dont go backwards, or fry it even more. Clean everything with the motor spray and inspect to see if the comm (thing the brushes touch) is black, the brushes are a funny color or cracked, and general things (bearing/bushing worn). Check this over and tell us what happens and what you see.

Last time that happened to me a sneaky little e-clip jumped inside of my motor, it was a rebuildable so it was ok but i would try to take the motor out and see if you can spin it by hand.

My motor is relatively new. I'd say about 3 months old. Well, I went ahead and took apart my motor, there wasn't alot of debris in it. Although it had a lot of a substance inside. I kinda felt like a grimy WD-40 mixture... maybe i got some WD-40 in there a while back when I was cleaning my car.

If all else fails get a new motor http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
1. Check your brushes, you will know if they are bad
2. Check for bad wiring.
3. Clean the motor really good, and oil your brearings if there is any.
4. Cheak to see if any wires are put on backwards...sounds funny but it could happen.
5. Make sure the screws you are useing are not so long that they block anything in the motor.
6. If you can spin the motor by hand and everything seems smooth and it still doesn't work then you will have to look at something else that is making a problem for you.
On the other hand you could just have a hung brush...id replace the brushes no matter what.

well, nothing is blocking the motor. I can spin it by hand.
I wonder if getting WD-40 in it has anything to do with it??? http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
