i just got done making the cardboard template for my rustler chassis i am hopeing to make out of
grapite. now if only traxxas made shock towers, suspension arms, and EVERYTHING they can
graphite, id have a better truck than an associated or losi!!! (giant hint hint to traxxas!!!)

ok, if u are familiar with the rustler chassis, the battery sits on the plane of the chassis that
hooks to the rear via the gear box, and front via the suspension arms and steering servo mount.
and that is the whole chassis of my template. instead of the esc and the receiver being about a
half an inch higher, they are now on the same plane, and the whole chassis is flat. and i can
have a 7th cell stick pack too because there is no box for the MSC. i will have to cut out part of
the stock chassis though because i need to have the part that the front screws for the rear
shock tower hook to, and the small rear screws of the steering servo mount hook to. and i will
have to make something so the battery will stay in place. when i get the money (which wont be
for a while) i will do this. right now, i still have to find out why my new t-maxx wont start, and i
think i need a new esc and a motor for my rustler. btu when i do get it done, this will kick!!!!! as
long as traxxas makes graphite shock towers, and suspension arms, and whatever else can be
graphite!!! (another giant hint hint to traxxas!!!!!!!!)
no pics of it as of yet, but when i can burn up the roll of film in my moms camera for our dog, ill pop in mine and get to snappin. cuz in about 3 hours my t-maxx body will finally be all painted. so ill get pics as soon as i can.

Good luck, but i have graphite on my Losi and you can't tell the diff between pastic or graphite. You don't get faster lap times, but graphite its a bit stronger. If you want something to work on you sould look into the trany on the rustler. But when you get done let see some pics...it should be really interesting! http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Greg.

I also have a rustler and traxxas does make a graphite chassis and shock towers for it but nothing else. I to would like to have graphite suspension arms Etc.... I e-mailed traxxas about it and told them that they should make other graphite components. Maybe if they get a lot of e-mails about it they will. So if you have a rustler and want graphite e-mail traxxas.

i also forgot to ad a question about a brace. with the added weight of the front and rear ends, (the gear box is esspecially heavy) what kind of a brace should i use if any? i thought about a top deck like on the new tamiya touring car in rcca, and then remembered it would probly limit access to my battery compartment. and then i thought about a "Y" brace like on the nitro rs4s. anyone have any other ideas? anyone think my 2 ideas would work? i thought about makin one for the front, and one for the back each connecting to a different side of the chassis.

and i dont think it will be done for a while. right now my new t-maxx wont start, so i may have to spend some money for that. and my rustler's ESC is fried, and i think i am gonna get a traxxas t-maxx steering servo too because that is all screwed up. so unless i can find some cheap carbon fiber sheeting, this is just a dream for right now untill i can work my funds back up.
