I have this big *** Triple XT. I mean BIG. It might as well be a Pede! I am using it for climbing (go figure) and I want to know what turn and wind mod motor I need for MONSTER TORQUE. It needs to be a modified. Not no crapy stock. And what brand do yall sujest? I know this should be in the Monster Truck forum (and it is) but I think you guys have a little higher IQ in motors. All the ppl in there are stuck on T-Maxxes. Thanks. :D

14 turn Reedy Sonic, overgeared like mad, with the high silver content brushes that Reedy makes.
MONSTER torque.
Use a low frequency setting on the ESC (if it is adjustable) and turn off any current limiting (if your ESC has it).
You'll fly dude.

OR, better yet, get one of the new Reedy E-MAXX motors and really overgear.
Or even better yet, get an RS750-SH Mabuchi motor out of a cordless drill, put one of those metal "torgue sleeve" gizmos on there and REALLY gear up. You will have to tap your own motor mounting holes though as the 750 motors have a wider set. The 750 wil rquire 8 cells minimum as well, but OMG would that go straight up at 90 MPH :p

buy the sonic with one wind and as few turns as you can then set back the timing and gear it 92 and 16 and it will wheelie and climb anything

LOL@jeep!!!!!

When you overgear, you go up on the pinion, down on spur.

When you gear "down," you're (HAPPY I DIDN'T SAY "YOUR?") hehe, had to add that; cause i caught myself...When you gear "down" though, you're actually aren't overgearing.

Put it this way:
more speed - overgearing
more speed - gearing up
more accel - undergearing
more accel - gearing down

Remember, overgearing and gearing up cause more wear, more top speed. Less wear and more accel for undergearing.

Thanks a lot for all the advice, and idea (<---jeepanator) I mean putting a 750 motor in a Triple XT would be killer though. But I have a nother question. Want all that gearing down make the life of the motor shorter? I dont want anything really WILD, just anough to get over a few rocks and about 80degree hills. ;) But thanks for all the advice! It has really helped out.
