well... thatīs the question basically...

I'm looking for a diff and bevel gear that would be stronger than the stock ones... It turns out that I've read I can use the same gears on my kyosho offroad buggy with little or no modifications, but I'm guessing I will need them to be alloy since the kyosho stock ones didn't hold up when I threw in some sick brushless voltage... thanks!

if you shim them right they will outlast the diff balls. I have been running a mamba with no issues other than frying the plastic outdrives. switch to the light metal ones with ceramic diffs.

well, I'm running a conversion that uses stadium truck tires and 82spur so it does get more stress than usual, plus I'm throwing in 11.1 volts to a mamba max 5700... even when the slipper is a bit loose, the gears do show signs of stress after a few runs... the other day I went ahead and tightened the slipper a bit more and played with higher settings on the mamba and the gears were gone within a couple of laps

If I canīt find alloys, I'll probably end up looking for a way to CNC them...

as far as i know nobody makes metal dif gears for the TC3,NTC3 or TC4,if they did id have them for my NTC3.when the NTC3 first came onto the market i bought one and people were complaining about stripping the dif gears in them.i ran my NTC3 on the original set of gears for 2 years,13+ gallons of fuel.never shimmed them except for he shims the instruction manual said to use.

shimmed cporrectly and if your driveline is set properly those gears last a long time...

AS for gears i know the Kyosho Pureten and Kyosho Zaboon buggy had hardened steel gears...

i havent heard of or had problems with the ntc3gears.i think if they can withstand nitro ,they should with stand bl.i know bl has the torque, but think about the additional weight of nitro, and the long mains?and shimming proper has a lot to do with it too.do they fit the zx-5?

the ZX5 is a Metric car...surely it will need to be modified to fit?

well, I've read a post that said a guy from the Netherlands was running NTC3 gears in his zx5 no prob... I think he just did a bit of dremeling so the shaft gears would fit, while the diff gear needed no mod I heard.

yea i figured as much, if i remember correctly the imperial stuff is slightly smaller than its metric counterpart (3mm for most things), so you will find you need to file and hack away at stuff to get them to work together.
