ok first of all - does a 6 cell pack like this one http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXDRC7&P=7 the same size as this one? http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXNAA2&P=7 Could I fit the 2nd one into a car thats made to take the 1st one?

This ESC says that it has 7.2v BEC output, but recievers only take 4.8-6v right? So will it work on my reciever? http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXGMR5&P=7

I used to have that ESC, and it worked fine with my bog standard receiver...

so does the stick pack take up the same amount of space as the side by side pack?

No, the second pack is much smaller and is designed for mini vehicles, the first one is designed for 1/10th scale vehicles and by looking at that ESC that is what you want. Yes it will work with the receiver, they for some reason just aren't rated at 7.2 volts, only at 4.8 and 6 volts like servos are.
