i have looked at Iwata and Paasche. it seems that Paasche is WAY cheaper. however, i am on a small budget so cost is importiant. now, what i need is an airbrush that can spray VARY small. i mean really small for fine detail and little shadows. i use to have a testors airbrush with propellent cans and it was an external mix. you could change the spray by twisting the nossle. it could spray really small, but its broke now :( and after useing my friends testors internal mix ( its like a $150 air brush) it didnt spray nearly as small and you had to change the nossles instead of twisting it. so my question is;

if i want to spray LARGE areas, and also TINEY TINY areas, which model/brand should i get? and internal mix or exteral?

Iwata Revolution CR (which is RC backwards) . For around $65 it's a bargain tool that will shoot fine lines with the best of them.

Look right?
I'll have to remember that, as a buddy of mine is also looking for a brush.

3rd one down. You get free shipping also. While your at it, if you need paint this (http://dixieart.com/CreatexAutoAir.html) is the same as fascolor , but is a lot cheaper.

I have the Paasche VL set, along with the #1, 3 and 5 needle/tip sets. With the #1 needle, you can spray as tight as you dare, just takes a while to build up color.

I usually use my #3 for general spraying of details/shadows, and the #5 for quick, large coverage areas. I've only used the #1 to try it out.

Pretty much any double action brush will give you a lot of control [with practice] that you're looking for.

I will probably pick up the Iwata CR for my next brush, but I'm really happy with my VL for now. Easy to clean, great control, and very forgiving on air pressure, I use this compressor http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/Displayitem.taf?itemnumber=47407 good investment if you don't have a good airbrush compressor already.

$65 shipped is The Deal, right there...look no further, buy it. Unless you can catch a Michael's or Hobby Lobby with them in stock, and you have one of their famous "40% off one item" coupons.

what about the Faskolor F1 airbrush? the thing i like about it is the faskolor paint bottles can mount right onto the brush instead of having to pour the paint into another container, so you can change paint colors quicker

You can do that with any siphon feed air brush like the Paasche VL, Badger 155 (or what ever other ones they have), the Parma brush, or any other bottom feed brush. Also you would be better off getting a gravity feed brush as they spray better, easier to clean, and you don’t waste as much paint like you do with bottom feed.

Don't bother. It's a knockoff, it'll burst into flames in 10 seconds ;)

Nothing wrong with a good knockoff. As long as it works, its awesome. Save money!

actually, my reply was a bit sarcastic, and thats not me. Only time will tell i guess, but with parts available, it seems like a great gun already. I enjoy it, and its very smooth.

I have both an Iwata HP-CS and a Paasche VL. The Paasche will do what you need it to do, for much cheaper than the Iwata. However, the Iwata is a much nicer AB - tons smoother and actually more comfortable to grip.

I still like using the Paasche for quick 'n' dirty stuff, and my old VX (single action, external mix) for things like basecoat/clearcoat paintjobs on static models.

But really, any double-action internal mix you can make friends with and use comfortable will work... just takes practice and getting used to what you have.
