Ok this is my question(well details first then the qeustion). Ok my Lhs will true my motor for me for like 6 dollars. I dont usually change my brushes and springs and true my motor a lot but I want to start. I am going to start on a regular basis because I want to get the full potential ou of my motor. Anyways for now I will have my LHS true my motor. But in the long run it will be cheeper to get my own Lathe. Now here is my question. I have never trued a motor before so will the lathe come with instructions or what? For right now though could someone tell me how to do it? I dont really care what kind of lathe I get as long as it can true stock motors. Does anybody know of a website where I can get an ok lathe at a good price. I heard something from this guy at my track that he got his for 50.00 on this one website but I couldnt here the website. Anybody know of any good ones?!?!

Yes, it's a good idea to watch the LHS guys true it for you, you can learn alot that way(the basics of operating a lathe are very similar from brand to brand). As for a cheap one, I'm not sure, but if look around on eBay, you may be able to find one at a good price...... http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/smile.gif

HUDY HUDY HUDY, or Cobra lathes, i also plan on getting one soon, some nice features to look for are the shims, ball bearing V-blocks, diamond bit(those are the best) or carbide----they are ok too, umm, oh, an included slave drive motor, if there is not one, you have to get one(bummer) and if you have a power supply with a 3A(5Volt) output, use that, i have seen 4, 5, and 6 cell packs running them, so i guess that all of them are ok.
Also, I have heard good things about trinity's tru-lathe 3

Cool! Except there is one prob. I cant watch my LHS true my motor. U just leave it there and when they get time they do it. Sometimes they even do it afterr hours.
This is one of the points where you shouldnt go cheap. Those cheap ones I have seen have broken comm's because they locked up, even saw some bits break. Get a high quality lathe from Hudy, there are a couple others, but Hudy is by far the best, they even have an auto cutter! I think their site is www.hudy.net (http://www.hudy.net)
