What kind and how many packs of batteries should I have? I see some guys with big boxes of batteries, but I think thats almost excessive. And for stock, are 2400s or the 3000 SMH better? Thanks

3000 ARE ALWAYS BETTER BUT IF U ARE GOING TO GET THOSE THEY ARE MUCH HARDER TO TAKE CARE OF AS IF U ARE GETTING A NIMPH 3000 U CAN ONLY RUN IT 3 RUNS A DAY SO I GOT THE DURATRAX SANYO 2400. BUT I DONT REALLY THINK 1 RANK HIGHER BATTS WILL MAKE MUCH OF A DIFFERENCE. BUT IT MATTERS IF U HAVE A 4WD TRUCK OR A 2WD TRUCK AND ALSO WHAT MOTOR U HAVE.
GOOD LUCK HOPE THIS CLEARS SOME DOUBTS!!! :)

hmm... What will you be doing? Racing or bashing?
For stock racing, I recommend some good 2400s or SMHs. The 2400s have a bit higher voltage (slightly more punch), but the SMHs are great, too. It comes down to what charger you have. If your charger isn't meant to charge NiMHs (like my Rhino), get 2400s and you'll be fine. If your charger can handle either, it comes down to personal preference. Take your pick, you won't be disappointed. On the other hand, I WAS & AM disappointed with my original Panasonic 3000s. They're not SMHs.
For bashing, go with SMHs for extra runtime. You still need to take your charger into account, though.

I think the 2400's are all around best battery for bashing and racing.
