We'll be there!
Not sure if I will be there this weekend but probably the next, we have a few things to get in order. I have a couple other things planned too. I know its a little ride for you, so I would at least try to make the tUrKey RaCe (as Ray would say).
Look forward to seeing you come down.

Hey Ed, we IM'd last year about the AMBrc scoring system detection loop and the track we were building in Central NJ. The track and club (www.BARCC.net) are gearing up for 2007 and we are buying the AMBrc system very soon. I can't recall how, but I'm pretty sure you told me how to make a detection loop using gear from Radio Shack. Please give me a shout when u can, marshon50@hotmail.com or marshon50@barcc.net. Also would Checkerboards be interested in BARCC coming down to race? Not everyone will travel but there are some die hards in the club who have vowed to get out and race as much as possible this year....

 Where have you been???? I thought you would have made it to the tUrkEy rACe. ;)
  Everbody's WELCOME!!!  , just come on down. We're not that far away. You've been racing at Trax, we're not that much farther.
I sold my AMBrc at the end of last season (old house transponders are next) and bought an rc3.
Loop is real simple. Radio Shack 470 ohm resistor soldered at one side of the track, then I have banana plugs on the other end. I slide a soda straw over the resistor and fill it with silicone, then heat shrink over it.

At CB, I can just wheel my cart up and plug in.

So you sold your old system and have the new one, AMBrc3? Did you have the AMB20? We are buying AMBrc3 also...
Thanks for the pics....So are there 2 resistors in the loop? In your first pic it looks like yellow wire-resistor-yellow wire AND red wire-resistor-black wire. I get the banana plugs end, it makes it simple for you to hook into the loop. Just not sure on the resistors....is one on one side of the loop and the other on the other side so a transponder crosses both of them?
I'd like to come down and check it out in person and see how easy/difficult the software end of the system is as far as setting up transponder numbers, qualifying heats and mains. I see the schedule, so nothing's happening til April 22 and you won't be there until May20th? Hopefully I can see it before then....I believe AMB has a 2 week backorder on the system but I should have it by May and want to run a race as soon as we get the system.

My old system was an "rc". I only sold the rc unit and the parts that come with it, and kept everything else. I wouldn't even consider a "system 20" now (sorry guys). It's at least 8 years old, won't read personals, plus other issues. It said 2 weeks when I ordered mine, but it was on my door step in 2 days.
Sorry about the resistors, there is only one in a loop. (after I posted, I thought that might cause confusion) Thats two different loops. The yellow wire is left over wire from the factory loop (it comes 33' each leg, I think I only used about 18' at CB). I have three different length loops for the cart. The resistor is in the middle at the opposite side of the track. At $.99 for a pack of 5 resistors, its cheap to make up a few.
I might be there both of the first dates. I will be there opening day, at least to say hello to the peeps. They will be days to shake out our systems.
Now that I can get back on the home site, there might be something more to the schedule.

What is the gauge for the wire on the loop? Do you use actual coax to join the loop (like AMB's) or does the loop connect directly to the decoder?
Also what is the connector on the back of the decoder? The loop from AMB seems to be a BNC but its hard to tell. I know you have a banana plug but did you make an adapter from BNC to banana.

Also, I'm trying to make a loop too, but not sure if the straw you pictured was from McDonalds or Burger King???? LMK, I'm stuck at this crossroad!
