Ok, I am fixing up my old Tamiya Chevy S-10. Just ordered the parts I need to get it running again. Now, I am thinking of getting a new motor for it. I currently have a Trinity Midnight that I got a couple of years ago. I never got too into the rc car scene before, but I would like to now. First question is what difference does the number of turns make? What is the difference between stock and modified? And give me your three favorite motors in each category:
1. Off road motor
2. On road mod
3. On road stock
4. Fastest overall

ok... first off. the lower the turns the faster it goes but with less run time.

mostly motors can be used in any kind of class but for offroad you mostly want torque.

MOST POPULAR stock motors w/ torque ~ trinity p2k, reedy MVP

MP stock motors w/ high RPM ~ trinity GM3, reedy rage type-r

there are other stockers out there but these are pretty popular.

mod motor ~ trinity D4, reedy Ti, Reedy fury, peak nebula, fantom modified. and orion have good modified motors.

i don't have three favorite motors in each class because thke best motor varies with each track.
