A double action airbrush give you more control by allowing you to control the amount of both paint and air going through the airbrush. Get the entry level Aztek in that article, it will be a good starting point.

I am about to paint my first lexan body and am going to use a combo of spray paint and a brush. I love it so far and am thinking of investing in an airbrush set. Can anyone give me an estimate on what it would cost for a modest setup, because I'm not sure exactly what I need. I don't know the difference between single and double action, and I'm not sure what other accessories I would need.

Dr.R... Paint...then cut...this way give you something to hold onto while you spray the important bits. It also helps catch the overspray if you are spraying properly..ie start the paint flow before you are aiming at the area you want to paint and stop it after you are past the same area. Hope this is a little help.... :D

dr. if your painting an hpi body, or any body with over spray film, cut it first but leave the film in place. that way you wont scratch it when you cut it. if the body DOESNT have over spray film, paint then cut so the outside edges protect your top from excess spray.
