There are a couple of ways to lock the axle. The quick and dirty way is to simply fill the diffs with JB Weld, mix and let set. The quick and clean way (and the way I prefer because it's reversable and doesn't require drying time) is to open the diff, and take the 3rd tranny gear and wedge it between the two other gears. I found it made it easier to drop in if I used one of the axles to spin the sun gear. Then the gear would simply drop in and prevents the sun gears from rotating. Button the assembly up and you're ready for crawling... well... the diffs are anyway.

For JB Welding, just get a good amount of the steel and hardener in there, close it up and spin it for a few minutes to spread and mix it then let it set.

I would suggest moving the 3rd gear not the weld, b/c if you get weld into the wrong place then you will be spending more money on new parts.

I recommend the 3rd gear too, but both are popular options.

I used polymer clay, cost me 99 cents and 20-30 min in the oven, it's reversable and works great! i haven't had a problem yet!

When I was building my TLT axles, I bypassed the JBweld. I did what they stated above by moving one of the three gears and wedging it between the other two. That way, if for ever some weird reason you didn't want it locked, its easily reversible. But there are several chassis out there. Just search the web you'll find one. The one that I used is the Junfac 1/10 crawler conversion kit for the TLT. Its made specifically for the TLT and comes with everything needed to assemble. Here (http://www.junfac.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=2&products_id=3) is the link.

Also, I would suggest scratching the TLT belt driven tranny. It will slip alot if you lock both axles and the center diff. I would suggest getting the R2 Black Crawler Transmission V2 by RC4WDSTORE.com Here (http://rc4wdstore.com/product_info.php?cPath=64&products_id=515) is the link to the tranny. I recently put it in my and I am extremely happy with it. If you do get this, it will take some thinking on how to mount it but trust me it will work and its worth it.

The picture below is of my TLT based crawler with the junfac conversion. Of course I've done more to it since this picture was taken, this is back when it was stock.

I have one pair of axles with JB Weld to lock them and another that I locked with extra spider gears. If you go the spider gear route, I would suggest picking up another package of bevel gears to use. If you just take one of the spider gears out and wedge it in between the other two, it would place an uneven load on the pins that the spider gears get installed onto and could break in a bind. An extra set of gears is less than $5 and you'll have some extra parts too. You could get the gears here: http://www.rcpcrawlers.com/product.php?productid=652&cat=17&page=3
RCP has a lot of other crawler parts, chassis, and accessories and their customer service is top-notch!
