Hey, I have a canned heat Durango, and I need to know how to replace the wheels. I cannot get the old ones off. I have already swapped the motor out, and now I cannot get any traction http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
Thanks a lot for any help

They're not really meant to be modified.

hey i have a canned heat and i know how to do it what u do is twist the back wheels off cuz they r glued onto the axel and the front wheels u take a flat head screwdriver and needle nose pliers pry it out the little pin that holds em in place with the flathead then once u got it out enought take the pliers and work it out with those then get the slot car wheels and put em on it works great! by the way make sure the slot car wheels u get r as close to as big as u can get em to the stock wheels r or the bottom will drag. http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/tongue.gif

most 1/24 scale models wheels fit on with some modding. however you can stick in tamiya mini 4wd motors, and it will go faster, depending on which one you get, check out rcmt.net for more info, go into the readers ride's board.
but, you can do alot of stuff to em. however, they are still non-porotional, and that serverly limits their drivablitiy at higher speeds, around 7-10mph, which is alot for something that small.

Walt - he's talking about a Tyco Canned Heat car. They're not built to easily allow replacement of worn parts or to be modified with wheels and tires commonly designed for hobby-quality cars. That better?

Steve, I have two Canned Heat cars with 5 cells jammed into them, I would call that modified would'nt you? As far as parts and hop ups go, adding cells is about the only thing to do. I'll just toss them when their beat.So far nothing has cooked, they are a hand full to drive, but big fun for $20.

you can do alot to em, change wheels, tires, motors, bodies, everything, even turn them into mts (but it doesnt work too well)
they are the best $20 i spent, even after the 6th time (yes i bought that many, but overall i problably spent over 40 hours running them. these things rock. however i am getting upset with the portonal steering.
oh well, time to make a custom!

Hehe, i have said this already, but i tried to make a land speed record with my mighty canned heat, with a C6-3 model rocket engine, it was not a land speed record, more like an air.......but, i tried to use a 9V battery, it would go really fast, them bog, the battery was not dead, just wierd, either way, the steering is a pain in the butt

i hated the click click steering and know what would be cool is get a really small speed control so u can get proportonal throttle but ur stuck with the steering unless u gut all the electrics out of it and put "real" electronics in it the steering servo is just wak have u seen it i mean opened it up? i still havent figured out a way to get the steering onto my slot car chassis well im still working on it. http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/tongue.gif
