Which is better and why. I am looking for a 'better' car than the TT-01. One which will allow more tuning and allow me to get better as a driver with.
So let's here your thoughts

I have a TT01 and a TA05 but I dont have a TB02.
You don't mention the surface but if your racing on carpet, you will definately want a belt car so I would recommend the TA05. It's a great car for the money. It's extremely tough and fast. The car is good right out of the box and and it won't hold you back at all if you're just starting out. And with the right hop ups, it can compete with much more expensive cars.
I'm not saying its better than an XRay but that you can acheive similar performance as you learn how to drive and tune it. You will definately spend a lot less time in the pits because they are practically indestructable. Especially in stock.
Good luck with whatever you choose.

My current race car is a tb-02 and I love it. I have raced a belt car before(x-ray fk04), but prefer shaft because I race in stock rubber and I like not dealing with the drivetrain. This car does need a few hop-ups to make it really fast(yet, beat cars three times the price). You need the aluminum motor mount, evo III outdrives for the rear ball diff, front one-way, and front universals.
BUT..my best friend has an Ta-05 that comes out of the box a little more track ready. The ball diffs are much better(before the evoIII diffs are installed on the tb-02). I drove it, but I like the "edgy" feel of shaft drive and the instant acceleration.
When it comes down to it, tb-02 for outside and either one for indoors. Tamiya is my favorite brand and you can't go wrong with either one

Good point, I forgot that detail. Car will be raced on pavement and carpet. Outside for TCS events in the summer months and carpet trtack when things turn cold.

When you race outside, is it a prepped track or is a parking lot type track? You could get away with the Ta-05 on prepped surface, but not a parking lot. I'd still go with the Tb-02 because there are no belts to get screwed up from rocks.

Hello every, im a new comer to this forum.this is my first post
i play Ta05 when i was in Shanghai, China.
it's a easy-controlling, even without modification.
both TA05 and TB02 are for the bginner and intermediator.
Ta05's disadvantage is that it is not good at anti-dust, while that's the very merit of TB02, many players in shanghai like to use TB02 or TB01 for street.
Actually, the main difference between TA05 and TB02 is that the former is B-D, the latter is S-D. so it also depends on what kind of drive you like.

Well I race my TA-05 in a supermarket car park and in the last year of fortnightly racing I have only had to replace the spur gear twice.
Contrast this with the new diff gears almost daily when I drove a tb evo 3 se( same drivetrain as tb-02). The tbEvo3 and TB-02 have a tendency to break the fr diffs when you crash. Cheap to repair but a pain to get at!
I would strongly recommend TA-05 unless using it for RALLY.
The TA-05 is a TANK. Highly recommended. :teacher:

Agreed, the TA05 has LOADS of race potential, aside from high weight(which I consider its only real flaw), it can handle with the best of them(including the best XRays, Schumachers, Corralys, etc.), & mine has withstood plenty of hits that would seriously damage most other cars & just kept going & going. I HIGHLY reccomend it.....

Hi I just finnished WCIC race today it was a 3 day event so I'm pretty burnt out. Anyways I raced My TT01 it is fully hoped up with every part I wanted to see how good it will go with xray's corraly's and msx's and lets say the TT01 isn't maded for 19T or Mod races. But if you want a cheap priced car. Go with the TT01. I did drive my friends TB02 and I didn't feal any differance. The TA05's are not bad they where performing good in the 19 spec class. But I don't think anyone was running the TA05's in the Mod class.
But if you wan't to just burn around on the street buy the TT01 or TB02 don't buy the TA05 for the street because it is belft driven.
Ooo yah I made C MAIN with the TT01 19 spec class.
Xray Micro A MAIN.

There is a night and day difference between the tb-02 and tt-01....I raced both(and my tt-01 was hopped up all the way too). I'd say the main difference is you would have made the A-main if you had a tb-02 :p

The TA05 is a good car, but I have just seen the cyclone S make an appearance in our OUTLAW class for on road and I can only say one thing.....SHE IS FAST!!!!!!
I raced against both these cars and the driver with the cyclons S was giving me some hard rubs for first. I barely got ahead and I was pulling my lines, but my TB-02 was hooking up like no ones business. The cyclone took second and third and the TA05 came in fourth and an XRAY came in after that.
If you go belt...invest in the HOT BODIES Cyclone with the graphite chassis (option for the Cyclone S). I think I might be picking me up one if I don't get my hands on the TC5 first....HHHHMMMMMM!!!
But I am still keeping my TB-02. I have her dialed in and don't plan on getting rid of her anytime soon. By the way...Prelude is correct....I have beat cars 3 times the price of my TB-02 and people always need to see my car after the race. Weird...it's like they don't believe me when I tell them they were beat by a tub chassis TB-02..
AAWWWRIGHTTTT!!!!
