Hey all! i know on stock motors you solder 2 capacitors to the posts and the other ends of them to the can. I really hate that idea. cant i just solder them to each post or something?

Why does it need to be soldered to the can?

Hey, you dont. And it takes 3. 1 from - to +....1 from - to the little tab and the other from + to the little tab. Its not taht hard, you should cut them though. :)

Solder one capacitor between the + and - tab. Solder another from the + tab to the motor's can (you may have to sand away and finish, decal, or paint). Solder the final capacitor from the - tab to the motor's can.

Dude, the MVP absolutely DOES have that little tab between the positive and negative solder posts. Just follow B3Tyler's instructions.

So i can just do the triangle method (like on mods with 3 caps) and not have to solder it to the can? thats what your saying Nairb?

If it does have that post i didnt know it did.

Yeah, go for it. It has the tab on at least one side, but maybe not both. FYI, since stock motors are all rebuildable now, they either have surface mount capacitors or the extra tab. Soldering to the can is not required on any rebuildable motor.

Nairb has it right. I have a bunch of MVPs, they have one of those tabs. you can always make your own tab, if you have to.
