I am making a carbon fiber chassis for a school science fair project, and for use with my electric rustler. I think, if it works out well :D I will make some and sell them. I don't know how much they will be sold for, but I will have a full lower chassis, and a full top deck from the front of the truck, to the front of the rear shock tower. I was going to make some shock towers and some other things, but I don't think they will work with just a flat piece of carbon fiber.

I am planning to get .125 carbon fiber, but if someone wants a different size, I'll have my supplier make it to your liking.

The top deck is making use of associated rc10gt plactic servo mounts to hold the steering servo. Where the top deck for the front servo is on the stock chassis, it has 2 small screws going from the top of it, to the bottm part of the chassis. This will be replaced with some Trinity blue anodized aluminum T-maxx bulkhead braces. If you are picky, I'm sure I could probably just get plastic ones form Traxxas, or even Hardcore Racing titanium ones. But of course that would drive the price up dramatically. (those buggers are like $40!!!! ) The same type of braces are used in the rear, to hold 2 of the 4 screws on the rear shock tower. This will require some sort of shimming, which will probably done with some plastic, or metal washers. The top deck will go from the bottom of the rear shock tower (Where the rear braces will be, above the braces, below the shock tower itself) to the front where the stock top deck for the front steering servo attatched. Also, it will have a brace in the middle as noted above. As of now, this kit WILL NOT include screws, except for the screws that come with whatever T-maxx brace I get. If they come with any at all. I know the Trinity braces have some nice hex head screws, so they will be included. If I get nice :) I will include a set of all of the screws needed to use this kit. Untill I find some other way to attatch the battery, for now I just plan to use some velcro straps (I think HPI makes some real cool lookin ones. But I think black is in order) or just some releasable zip ties. Again, if I get nice, I will include these in the kit. If you want something cool put into your top deck, like a word or something, for $10 I'll to that for ya. I was going to cut "CFCE" (Carbon fiber carbo eater. The name of my project. Untill I can think of a good one lol) in my top deck, but don't want to mess with that. That's all the problems I can think of that I will face right now, so when I get some more, I'll keep you guys posted.

After I get my chassis completed, if it works, I will DEFINATELY want to make some chassis and sell them to all of you who are interested. I will need permission from my dad do do this though, because untill I can get good at the jugsaw and dremel, he is going to do the cutting.

Thanks alot wheather (Where's the spell check for that word??!!! I think it's wrong!!) or not you are interested. I'm really stoked about this idea because when I try to make something by hand for my R/C cars, it usually turns out funny. But I think this is one thing that will really be awesome.

If you wan to see more about this in the future, I will up date EVERYTHING on my website..... http://bikerboy6986.homestead.com/tmaxx3.html

Someone must have some interest. I know there are electric Rustlers around here....... As soon as my supplier emails me back, I will be ordering my first carbon fiber sheets to make the first prototype chassis.

I guess noones interested becouse the rustler is not a real racing truck and a carbon fiber chassis that cuts a little weight off thats going to cost them atleast thirty dollars, doesnt seem to appealing.
Im interested in making me a tc3 buggy, " 4wd offroad racing buggy". I was wondering how much the molds are going to cost? I mean if i give them my prototype parts, how much will it be for the to make a line.
Thanks a bunch, you can email me.
