ok im sorry but i searched this but still have a question...
i have a 19x2 motor and a 22 pinion gear and a 72 spur gear. will i blow any thing up on my car? im puting this in my tc3 from my other car that had a 81 spur gear. in the manual it only went up to 16 turn with a 26 pinion 72 spur gear. will i have to buy another pinion?

If I understand your post correctly, you are asking what pinion to use. That is hard to say due to the fact that everybody drives differently and on different tracks. What you want to do is start from stock gearing, and try it. If the motor heats up quickly, and there is slow acceleration, it is overgeared, and go down on the pinion by 1 or 2 teeth. If the car has a slow top speed and alot of starting torque, it is undergeared, and go up on the pinion by 1 or 2 teeth.

but heres the thing: i dont know what the stock gearing is.
let me rephrase this: i have a 19x2 turn motor and a 22 pinion gear. i had it running in my old car that had a 81 spur gear. i want to put my 19 turn and the 22 pinion in my tc3 that has a 72 spur. i want to make sure that i wont fry any thing if i run the 22 pinion with the 72 spur. i cant risk frying my esc or anything else. i keep hearing people have their stuff start on fire becaused they geared wrong. i just need to know if it is ok to run the gear or if i have to buy a different gear.(its the only one i have)

that equals about a 8.1 FDR; pretty undergeared unless youre on an incredibly tight track.

If you are a basher that gearing will keep your motor fairly cool, its what i used on a stock motor on an indoor tight track, going to 19 Turn you want actually about the same if not a taller gearing as 19 turn have more torque. So if you can get 3 more pinions, 21, 23, 24 and use the 23, if the motor comes off cold, go up again.
