Make sure the Ant on the transmitter is screwed in fairly tight. Check the routing of your ant on the receiver, avoid running it by other wires as much as possible. Try placing your receiver in different areas, see if that changes the range. Change the batteries in your transmitter.

maybe you have alot of interference in your area. when my neighbors band is having a rehearsal i cant drive my car more than 20 feet away from me. when i got my new motor i wuz frustrated cuz i wanted to use its full potential. hehe

Check all of the typical glitching contributors...
Make sure the batteries in your radio are fully charged. Make sure the ant hasn't been cut and is not wound up with the battery or motor wires and is in an ant holder and try to get it as elevated as you can. Check the brushes on your motor, if they are worn down they can cause interference with the receiver. Make sure you have the TX and RX crystals in the right spot. Make sure the receiver you are using is compatible with your Transmitter. Those are the things just off the top of my head.

IS YOUR CAR MADE OUT OF GRAPHITE BECAUSE I HEARD THAT CAUSES LOTS OF INTERFERENCE.

then your chassis iz causing some radio glitching. just drill a hole on the side of your antenna bout a half n inch or so up from the post and guide the antenna cable up it. i had that problem and that solved it. :)
