Hello,
im new to electric and was wondering, it seems that the milliamp (mAh) rating plays a vital role in battery selection, how does this affect the runtime and durability of a battery? Also will 2 1100 mAh 7.2 v battery packs cut it with a E-Maxx?
thanks,
jason :D

They will work, but you will probably get only a maximum of 3 to 4 minutes of runtime.

The mah rating is THE run time number in batts. That's the capacity number in mili amp hrs. I don't have an E-max, but I do know that they're batt hogs. I wouldn't think 1100's would be a very good investment these days. There's much better batts available for a reasonable cost. Why 1100's?
I'm shure they would work, but you can get up to 3,000 mah nmh, & 2400 nicad batts these days. Thats two to three times the run time of an 1100 pack.

mah means milliamp hours. So an "1100" can provive an 1100 ma current for 1 hour, a 2200 ma current for 1/2 an hour, etc. Im not sure of the amp draw of an EMaxx, so I cant help youwith a runtime. Durabilty is not really any different with the different mahs of batteries, however if you own expensive batteries you tend to take better care of them. As long as you dont overcharge your batteries, they should last a long time.

thank you all very much for your replies. you have helped me a great deal. tell me one more thing if you could, when it says '6cell' are all '6 cell' batteries the same size? i mean the actual batteries that make up a 6 cell pack?
thanks,
