you also can't leave window mask on for to long or it leaves sticky residue behind when pulled. and there's no telling how long that body could be on the shelf or in a warehouse.

and not all people use them. i myself sometimes just coat the entire body with liquid mask and then cut out my windows so i can make my own window trim.

If you mean RTR bodies, it's because they don't actually paint most of them. Traxxas, among others, actually prints their bodies before they are molded into shape. If you look close enough, 90% of Traxxas' bodies are not centered. The 'center' stripe is off to one side or the other most of the time. If they were to actually mask the windows rather than putting a sticker on it, your windshield would probably end up curving around one side and the door window would be wrapped up around the windshield on the other.
Some companies, like Losi and Kyosho actually paint their bodies rather than printing them. Those bodies have clear windows.

....also, i wonder WHY companies dont make solid, not hollow ALUMINUM sliders  Those would be a nice idea for the pede/rusty id think.

RTR bodies are printed before vacuum forming because it's cheaper and faster than painting a formed body. The cost and time to paint a formed body in a flashy multi-colored scheme would bump up the price by about $50(my guess).
They save, you save, all's good.
