Pretty much any speed control. If your going for price duratrax has a 20t and up forward only for 25 bucks.

I'd go with the Traxxas xl-5 or xl-10. It comes with three throttle profiles:
1) 100% forward, 100% reverse, and 100% braking
2) 100% forward, no reverse, 100% braking
3) 50% forward, 50% reverse, 100% braking
:)

I've had nothing but good luck with my duratrax 12T ESC. It stays pretty cool, even when I run at the motor limit, and it didn't cost a fortune. :D

I'm a big Novak fan myself. But I have the Intellispeed's 12T and 8T and they work great for me. :)

Tamiya TEU 01 ... has thermal shutdown, reverse lock and one cool thing is it (from my experience) shuts off if water ever gets inside...

Im using a LRP F1 Pro Reverse Im happy with it.Me too, it's a great ESC, and a no turn limit! Since your using a 27 turn motor, just about any speed control will work, I like Traxxas ESC's personaly, Futaba's MC330R is a pretty nice one too.....

If you're on a budget, I'd say the duratrax Streak (12 turn motor limit). 35 bucks, and hasn't failed me (I've done some crazy stuff with it too) yet. That's just my experience with it though.
I also like my Novak Fusion II (discontinued I think), and my LRP IPC Pro. Those last two were a bit more on the expensive side though. Even my LRP Runner ESC was pretty decent.

Don't all of them? JK If you run any of the MTroniks stuff, they are waterproof.

well i guess if ur esc has overcurrent protection it would shut down too. it's supposed to detect a short in ur motor, which water might cause i think...

I use a Novak GTX. This is an awesome Speed Controller. No problems ever. It could be 95 degrees outside and the heat sinks get mildly warm. It has a no turn motor limit, adjustable throttle profiles, and constant and drag brake settings. I think you can buy them used for around 60-70 bucks. You may be able to get a refurb from Novak for around the same price.
