well today at the track after our first qialifier I qualified 4 outta 13 but wasnt happy as my lap times were down almost a second then normal...so I make a couple changes go out between heats to check my adj...and everything seemed to be back to "normal" about 3-4 mins into my run coming down the straight my car just stays on full throttle...for about 3 secs and then BIFF right into the wall...mind yot this was only the 2nd time out with my new losi 8ight and the LHS dont have much on stock for it yet and I broke almost every front end plastic piece I was so mad that it glitched with my spektrum...and I have a TRS on my carb as well...I had no steering or anthing and my battery was charged prior to testing... I am very up set with my radio to say the least right now...another guy was having glitching issues with his DX 2 last weekened as well not as bad as mine just kinda weird his throttle would blirp on him now and a again...well now that I got my rant off my chest i feel a tad bit better :D

You might want to check into the possibility that it wasn't the radio, but the throttle servo. Just a thought, based on all the talk about throttle servo failures on the 8ight.
I don't recall much talk about issues with Spektrum systems except for the rx's sensitivity to voltage drop... thus most racers use the Spektrum rx capacitor. That's also a possibilty for what happened. It takes about 2 seconds for the rx to reboot if this happens.

Are you running a fail-safe?

On my old RC18t I had a problem where after a hard impact (jump) the spektrum would "glitch" This was fixed in an update quite a long time ago I believe. Check into that though, as Horizon/ Spektrum can tell you if the RX needs updating. This also cost me quite a bit of $$, even though it was a cheap RC18t.

the dx 2.0 has a built in fail safe...as does the dx 2...also has a throttle return spring on it, im not using the stock throttle servo or steering servo...steering is a jr 9000T and the throttle is a hitec 645, i didnt have any steering eighter when this happend...the pack was just charged prior to testing..I am running the DX 2.0 so im sure the reciever prb. has been fixed on my model.

Call horizon/ spektrum as not too many people will be able to help you here with this issue. I have a spektrum setup in my M11, and at the track 2 weekends ago, I encountered a 2 glitches, (no steering, throttle stuck at where it glitched) I dont think its interference (unless all the channels are used)

does your throttle servo work now?? If not, you probably fried it. The only problem that this car has, is the throttle servos frying because of the linkage.
Look it up, youll find the fix all over the place.

Well if his steering failed too as he stated it did it's not likely to be a throttle servo issue. If it were he'd still have steering.
My Spektrum has been having issues lately now too. It was fine when we were running on the indoor track but now that we've moved outdoors it's been glitching very similar to the original low voltage BEC issue they had before the Pro series. Since mine was no longer under warranty and I have heard there have been some issues with the antennas being wrapped/routed incorrectly internally on the recievers I decided to take my module apart. Sure enough my antenna was wrapped/routed incorrectly internally. I've re-routed the wire and I hope *fingers crossed* that the problem is solved...Hopefully I'll be able to test this weekend.

Can you please explain how you checked and fixed this? I am having some Spektrum glitching issues.
thanks!

On RCTech in the Spektrum thread someone posted pics for me of how the antenna should be routed. I just opened up the case and rerouted it as per the pics.
Other glitching issues I've run into:
- Low power from BEC running 4 cell 1/12th. Some ESCs BEC are not as strong as others and the Spektrum RX is very sensitive to voltage loss. LRP ESCs are notorious to not work well with Spektrum. Can be fixed with a power cap on the reciever or a reciever pack.
- Insufficient power from a RX pack. The Spektrum seems to have an issue when using non-rechargeable RX packs. Ditch the AA battery reciever pack and get a good NiMh one.
- Sensitivity to RX antenna placement. The reciever seems to be very sensitive to needing at least part of it to be vertically mounted. Much more sensitive then any other reciever I've used in the past.

In my Spektrum gear, I have never had an issue when using a newer 3500 receiver designed to work down to 3.5V.
I have other issues with: Cold solder joints, hung brushes, loose sensor wires on GTB, loose or nicked servo/esc wires, bad battery cell, poor antenna location or posistion.
To fix this: Glitch buster caps 4300mcF to 1F or 150mah to 1000mah RX packs really do help in high amp or low cell count situation.
SIDE NOTE:
I just bught some RC123A 1000mAh 3.0V batteries make RX packs on my electric cars. DESIGN SPECS: 70g, 18mm x 38mm x 34mm battery pack designed for 2A average discharge. The cells include a overvoltage circut in the cells, but I am sure my ICE will charge it. If it looks affordable and works, I may make extra to sell at around $12 a pack.
