Hey guys, thanks for the some of the answers from my other post but I still didn't get specific answers for these questions.

Are the metal shock bodies really that much smoother than the composites?

Are the composite CVD's as fragile as I hear? (One board smack and thats it).

Aluminum battery brace, does it make the batteries run signifigantly cooler?

Unobtanium shafts, does it actually make anything move smoother? Or is it a durability hop up?

I posted these same questions on the Associated board and got snubbed. Now I don't want to turn this into the same thing as that HPI Quality thread. I'll just say this, I wasn't too happy with the non-answer Associated gave me. Associated does make good stuff, but this time thier answer just stunk.

Thanks

They last longer and wont blow shock caps, but they are a LITTLE smoother.

My CVD's (aluminum) never bent broke or anything during MONTHS of demolition derbies getting hit by everyone at every angle at top speed.

The batt.Brace is heavier, thats all I know, and I dont use it.

Unobtanium-YES and last longer too!!!

Agalanis,
Recheck the Associated board. They answered your questions when you reposted to them the second time. They seem to give the answers you are looking for. Good Luck,
Ray

Ray,

Thanks, I just checked them. Looks like AE came through on the second go... thats cool, maybe they just made a mistake.

Agalanis:
I made many of the hop-ups on my TC3 after racing it for a while and here is what I learned:

Metal Shock bodies: I would say no if the composites are built right and not worn out
Composite CVD's: They might snap if you hit really hard. I broke many arms before I broke the first CVD (It actually wore out, it didn't break) The metal ones will bend after a hit, and cost far more to replace - I think that the composite ones are $10 for four.
Aluminum Batt. Brace: Don't know on this one, but it does look cool
Unobtanium Shafts: Easier on the shock parts, will keep other parts from wearing out - I never used them in the stock shocks, but put them in the threaded ones when I got 'em.

There's my 2 cents.
