It sounds like a good setup. If you want to buy something to help your racing, buy a good charger and a few good packs. Then practice.

Go check out some races at the local track and see what the other buggy guys are using for tires, etc and go from there.

Thats one nice thing about R/C.. generally people are willing to help each other out and you should be able to find out will make you competetive at the local track just by asking the people who race there.

Driving still wins Off-road races, so the best investment you could make is practice time :)

30 minutes isn't bad... I have to drive 45 and I'm sure there are guys on this board driving an hour or more just to race.

I have to drive three hours to race anything but dirt oval.
Practice, practice, practice and check out the competitions to see what the top runners are running.

i personally drive 3 hours each way every weekend to race...

about the B-3... couple quick tips...

1. RPM front bumper.... it's cheap and will keep you from nose planting so much... (means being marshalled less, which is always a good thing)

2. RPM rear arm mounts... the stockers tend to get loose very easily... the RPM's will stay tight forever, and help keep your outdrive on the left side from getting chewed up

3. servo saver... the stock servo saver leaves a lot to be desired... you may be able to find an aftermarket saver that will fit (most won't work and still allow full steering).. or you can add just a bit of AE black grease to the stock saver and set the spring tension precisely...

best of luck with your new B-3 :)

peace out... :)

Front and rear bumpers are a must. THe gear cover is great, but I lost my cap. Tower should have them...!

Tower has them. Also look at the RPM front arms. When I started racing again after five years off, I broke the stock front arms, so tried the graphite ones. Broke them too. I've run the RPM ones for months with no problems, no matter how I drive on a given race night. When I bought my second B3, I ordered the RPM arms at the same time, so I could install during assembly.

While your buying the front bumper and rear arm mounts, pick up the rear bumper and gear cover. The gear cover is much thicker than the stock one, looks better, and the button is already fitted perfectly. The rear bumper will add a little more protection to your motor.

do you think tower would have them?
