The Duratrax Pirahna he has is in that issue. They gave it a solid review, you must have a defective charger Joe. I've got the same one and haven't had any problems so far. I would give em another shot. On the other hand, if I had to get a new charger, I'd definitely go Novak. Rhino or Millennium. Only bad thing is, they specify you must use a power supply, a battery charger won't work. You need either the N-Power or another PS capable of supplying 7amps I think.

I have the Indi 16x2. It can charge 4-7 cell batteries. It has amperage from 0.5 to 4.5 Amps(fully adjustable). It can charge 3000's too. I really like it. I think it is like 70.00 dollars or so.

ya, thats the one i got at the hobby shop the other day (indi 16x2) It seems pretty neat. Do i have to charge the batt. before i run it thru the "conditioning" mode?

I am not sure I havent used it much. I usually run the batt out with my car and then condition but i am not sure. It doesnt specify either in the manual so i guess it doesnt really matter. Hope u enjoy it. Oh BTW did u get the one that charges the 3000's too or the older model. I have the older model. Not that old though
I have the same charger, indi 16x2 pro, it does the 3000's also.
When i use the conditioning mode i just plug the battery in and let the charger figure it out and it has always worked.
I dont think you can find a better charger for the money, you won't regret getting it.
The duratrax intellipeak chargers look to be relabeled indi chargers, including the 16x2 pro.

id say that the duratrax parana is the best choice!
for a sport charger under $50 its ok,but for racing and to really take good care of the battaries, if you can afford it you really should get a better quality charger, even if you are not racing but plan on being in this hobby for awhile you would be doing your self a favor by getting somthing better.

I had a Duratrax Pirahna but the only bad thing is the current is not ajustable and you could cook steak on it after two charges!
Over all it is a very good charger. No bad experiences here.

i have one, i don't like it, it gets way too hot and sometimes false peaks. Spend a few extra bucks and get a beter charger.

I think you should go with the Super Brain 819. You can do back2back charges. And it is real good for the money.
