Why do my batts stink?!

"Why do batts stink?!" Because theyre not nitro! I doubt that not usuing a new batt for 2 months has any affect, I mean the ones we buy off hobby shop can sit there for over a year or 2! Maybe your charger has a problem or something, 4 minutes with a 45 minute charge doesnt sound right.

Yea, i know.. I did a brand new sanyo 1700 batt after i wrote this post and it was 45 min and it only went for a little over four mins.. im going to a hobby shop/race tomarrow and im gonna pick up a new charger there.. something that isnt duratrax!

Definetly sounds like your charger has gone to bye bye land Joe. I wouldn't give up on Duratrax yet. RCCA gave them a solid review in the peak charger guide for Dec 00. How long had you been using the charger? Maybe it was just it's time.

I replied to your other post also, I'd recommend a Rhino or Millennium if you're in the market for a new charger. I'm not familiar with some of the other chargers out now, but I know the Rhino is a solid performer, never had a Millennium though... maybe someday...

P.S. If you can find a Tekin bc112a, that used to be my charger of choice, that thing took a lickin and kept on tickin. I spilled a super-size coke from McD's on it at a race, and it kept on goin. Not sure if Tekin went out of business though... ? Might be hard to get service (if you ever needed it)

Doesn't this charger come with a 5 year warranty ?? (Duratrax )

Not sure, I never checked, but I did read through my Dec 00 RCCA and it says the Pirahna charger has a 45min cutoff if no peak is detected. So your charger needs a checkup.

OK, i have a new sanyo 1500 mah batt that i charged on my piranha peak charger. it took 44 minuets before the light started to blink that said it was done. I waited for it to cool off and then discraged it and it only lasted about 4 min and 40 seconds on ny bulb discharger... I did wait a month or 2 to use this NEW battery but i dont think that that would make it that bad would it??

Yea, i figured it was getting screwy since it would charge for 45 min, so i got a new charger. It is a nice one. http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/smile.gif
