Check out my BJ4...i mean Mini inferno! It reminds me of a BJ4 only smaller. I ordered up a KM Concepts conversion kit for the MI. It gets rid of the center diff setup and replaces it with a slipper that sits in an aluminum motor mount. Its a bolt up affair. The only thing that I had to do was make notches on the opposite side for the front and rear diff gears. This kit was made to work by flipping the diffs from back to front. The problem with this is that you end up stripping the pinions in the diffs because they werent ment to run like that. There is a tab on the inside of the diff case to prevent this. But when they are swapped they dont do their job.

The problem now is because of me keeping the front diff in the front and rear in rear any motor I run will force the car to run in reverse......but there is a solution. BRUSHLESS!!! The brushless motors have 3 wires. All you have to do is swap two of them and it will make the motor run in reverse which is no problem.

Its a pretty simple conversion. The only thing I had to do other than grind new notches for the f & r diffs was to elongate the lower motor mount hole to allow more room for meshing the spur to the pinion. Knowing the power of brushless I wanted to make sure I didnt strip the spur as i havent ordered any spares yet.

The MI is stock with the exception of the conversion kit along with front and rear Integy shock towers. I also have Integy front and rear Integy outdrives along with not yet installed Integy front and rear universals. The buggy is equipped with Kyosho oil filled shocks too. I am running a Tekin Mini Rage esc w/ Aon 4900kv motor and a 15tooth pinion. So far its nothing short of amazing on 8 cells. I plan on running it on 6 cells when I race though. The punch and torque is incredible. Its plenty fast too! The servo is a Hitec HS-81MG that is velcroed in for my test runs. It will be shoe goo'd to the chassis once I test it all out.

As luck would have it, it finally began snowing this year. I had just finished the build and there was a nice dusting so far. Who could resist, LOL!! My first test run..........SUCCESS!! It was throwing snow roosts all over the place. Steering was actually pretty good considering its velcroed in. Another nice thing is that it is ALOT quieter than the stock center diff.

In conclusion, I love it so far! It will be put to the test on its first race day. The conversion is available from Speedtechrc.com for around $99. The quality was waaay better than I was expecting. I love it so much that I am selling one of my mini LST's to buy the Half 8 ST and do the conversion on that too!

Here are pics from before to after:

Hey james Ive done it my self in many builds lol. In my most recent build I forgot to put some shims under my motor cage in my F103GT and I only noticed once the rear pod was fully assembled lol.
