Welcome Rally Fans!

Just wanted to let you know about this series I'm putting together for '07....RALLY!

I know this might not be everyone's cup of tea, but our club has had a loyal Rally following over the last 5 years, and I wanted to really promote this to the masses to see if anyone else might be interested in joining us.

We have about 20 guys so far and always looking for more.

I figure if anyone has an intrest, you'd have all winter to build something out of your older sedan stuff....This will be a "Low Tech/High Fun" class!!!

We have always had an "electric" rally class (19T) but this year, we're looking to start a "Nitro Rally" class as well...heh heh heh

The format is really simple....all your stages (heats) are added together and the driver with the most laps in the least amount of time wins!

There are no drops, so if you break or just have a bad stage, well, you're basically S.O.L.

The courses are run on a lot of different types of terrain at the same time (dirt, grass, stones, mud, gravel, etc.) along with natural elevation changes too!

Our race days are shorter too because like real rally, there is no practice before your stage. You can only look at the course and hopefully make the right adjustments before you start, so adapting quickly is also key to doing well!

This is about as "cost controlled" and "back to basics" as you can get and LUCK does play a big factor in doing well in Rally!

I also plan to use this series to put R/C racing back in the public eye, by doing them in PUBLIC places so we can attract new racers to the hobby!

Any questions, just ask away!!!!

Getting close guys.....We're looking at Sunday April 29th as an opening day, so let's giT'R dOnE!!!!!!

First race will be held in a local park (Wagner Park) in Williamstown N.J.

Remember, we're running both electric AND nitro rally, so be a part of the FUN!

We have AMBrc/autoscore to keep track of things....

Even if you don't have a rally yet, just stop by and check it out and meet some of our rally peeps for more info....:)

HEY,...Hey Mr Ray,

Have you seen this thread?? This could open this class up, not just the kit but the body. Just think of all the old rc10 "t's", t2's, t3's, and GT's out there.

http://forums.radiocontrolzone.com/showthread.php?t=235014

I can even picture them on Whosolds, track.

Looks pretty cool, but we'd have to make this a seperate class since it's based on a truck chassis....

You know me, if they bring 'em, we'll race 'em!

Also, check out our site www.sixfoottiger.com and look in the forum under "R/C Rally Central"

We have a few nitro people (HPI, Associated, Yokomo, etc) doing conversions for this year. Stop by and ask anyone there about any chassis....:)

What do you guys think of this. It has caught my attention, my main concern was if replacement parts could be found at my LHS.

Here is a few reply messages from him.
no, this car is made at the same factory ofna makes all there cars. Ofna does not order this car, we do. we are exclusive to this car. in reality this car is made 100% parts from one factory only. its not a mix and match put together car. i think its the best nitro car you can buy

THIS COMES BUILT, EVERYTHIGN IS DONE FOR YOU. IT COMES WITH PART MANUAL, AND SCHEMATICS TO TAKE APART AND RE-AASEMBLE. PARTS YOU CAN GET FROK A VARIETY OF PARTS SUPPLIERS INCLUDING ME. if for some reason you cannot get parts, i will order direct from factory, takes 1 week

YES, LOTS OF OFNA PARTS, AND WE ALSO CARRY PARTS

IMHO, Looks like a really fun car to bash with, but trying to find others with 1/8th scale rallys, to race with, might be tough. I'd stick to a 10th scale version (electric or nitro) so you can find more people to race with....

To me, it's a lot more fun when you race with guys that have similar cars....:)

Where did sixfoottiger.com go?

Sorry for the late reply.....I guess you already figured out the the sixfoottiger site is back up....It had issues for a little while....LOL

Anyhowz, everyone in our area has had a really busy summer with other tracks/classes, but we still have rallys in our back pockets for special occasions.....LOL

If anyone still has an intrests in racing them, please keep this thread alive!!!!!

I rally (I mean really) plan to have at least ONE big rally race before the end of the year, so stay tuned....
