Also tell me what your opinion on the HPI RS4 baja buggy. Tell me if it is fast, durable for off and on-road racing, etc.
I know it is 4wd so it should be pretty fast. Tell me what you guys think about the controll to. If u have any other electric trucks comparable to this one please not them in your reply. :)

Later... =)

p.s. thank you for your help!!! =)

RallyDriver, I had a HPI RS4 MT Dodge Statium truck. Both it and the Baja are the same with the exception of the tires. The Baja has off road Proline Dirt Hawgs and the Statium truck has HPI V-Groove radials. They are the same, both RS4 MT's (just different bodies. Having established that, I found the RS4 Mt to be somewhat fragile. However, a couple of tricks I learned on this forum brought the truck together and the person I sold it to has not had a problem even though he's much harder on the truck than I was. Go Figure ;) It's fast as stadium trucks go and an exceptional jumper. IMO the only other stadium trucks in it's league are the RC10T3, and the Triple-XT.

RallyDriver,

I have the F-150 version and love it. I guess either I've been lucky or maybe they don't build them as well as they did, but I've never had anything break on my MT. I've hit parked cars at full speed (with a 14 turn motor, even), flipped it, jumped it, whatever...it just keeps on going. I think it's an excellent R/C all around. I think Fergy hit everything else. Oh, it will smoke a T3 or XXXT (on a track), because it handles like it's on rails.

I have had the Baja Bug for about 3 months now. I use it for bashing in open fields. It is plenty fast, and jumps good. I have only had 3 mechanical problems, which is surprising after seeing some of my crashes :eek:
The only bad thing I have to say about it is that I think the rear body mount could be designed better. There is only one post for the rear of the body to mount on. I have broken 2 lexan bodies at this mount hole. The Bug body that came with it cracked in half there, and a truck body started to rip the hole wider. I fixed them by cutting a tin can lid to the size of the body mount and shoe gooing it to the underside of the body. This gives it more strength. You might even consider leaving the wing off the Bug, as that broke off on mine after 15 minutes.

I have found 2 other problems during routine maintenance. An e-clip was broken on one of my front driveshafts inside the gearbox. A roll pin shot out of the rear gear shaft.

I too think some of the people that have had many problems may have not built the kit correctly, or have done no regular maintenance on it. A friend bought a used one off the internet, and it was not built right. E-clips were not on the main gear shaft, the slipper clutch was missing the bushings and washers. He had a few problems with it till he took it all apart and fixed the mistakes.

I have the F-150 and it is fast and durable and i have had only two problems with it. The stock road tires are hard as a rock and have little traction (you wont have the problem with the Baja Bug)and i broke two roll pins on the pully shaft and it can be fixed with using a grinded down allen wrench insted of the stock roll pins.
