We don't know what you're doing at all please describe, so we can help. Maybe it's tiem to try some other charger? I'm not familiar with prina; the intellipeak series I've heard good things about though.

ok it's a preina peak charger, i most of the time charge my 2000 on it.i just hit charger and leave it there untill i see its done, but lately it has been done in like 10 mins.
Do you discharge the batteries? Nicads have memory man...DONT FORGET TO DISCHARGE!!! Its not the charger(unless its a fales peak). I sympathize with you though...what with the NI-MH batteries out it gets confusing hehe...

I have a piranha peak charger and I've used it like 5 times it its worked great. I've used to it charge my old radio shack batts for my buggy and it works really good with that. Hopefully nothing like that happens to me cause I don't have that much money.

b_p, just run out your batteries until your truck starts to get slow. Stop there, take out your batteries and let them cool before you recharge them.

My Piranha gets hot pretty quickly. I keep a fan on it and the battery while charging. I have a 2000 that starts to trickle charge after 2 minutes...I have to restart the fast charge 4 times before it'll continue to fully charge the battery. I gave the Piranha to my godkid, I use Apex's now.

There are a few people that have the Vision Peak at the track. Has a built in fan to keep it cooler(still gets a bit warm though). Only thing they complain about is the slow charge rate(4 amps). The most popular chargers are the Apex and the Intellipeaks at our track.

I've has mine for just over a month now and have not had any problems yet. Compared to my old timer charger the run times are about 3 minutes longer. I've probably charged 3 batteries 10-12 times each without incident. I just don't pull it off the charger as soon as it starts to peak charge. I leave it for about another 10-20 minutes or until the batteries feel warm. I have not used the DC yet though.

A 30 ohm resistor from Radio Shack works great as a discharger. Just solder whatever connecter you need onto it and plug it into your battery.
You might want to try discharging and trickle charging a few times to clear any memory in the battery. After you've done this then go back to rapid charging and see what it does.
If you need to purchase a new charger, check out the Astroflight models, they actually display the quantity of amp-hours that have been put into the battery pack as its being charged. They also charge at a constant current (adjustable), so they work great for NiMH batteries also.

b_p, don't dump your batteries so far! That's way too much and is probably damaging your batts. Just run yourr truck until it gets really slow (but will still move, barely) and stop then. That should be enough. When you take them all the way down (by holding the wheels of the ground and pulling the trigger until they stop), you're gonna hurt the cells. Chances are, you have already reversed some of the cells.
Do yourself a favor and get a discharger. Either buy an Intellipeak charger that discharges too, or buy a simple bulb discharger. You need to treat these cells better; right now you're killing them. The charger is not the problem...

No, a discharger won't go too far if it has a cutoff device. If you get a bulb discharger, leave it on until the bulbs start getting dim, then disconnect it. When you discharge how you've been doing it, then hook it up to some bulbs, you'll see that the lights don't go on at all. That means you discharged them too much.

Nairb, did you try attaching the battery to the charger while the charger is unplugged? That's how my friends charger works as a discharger. The charger light will come on while unplugged with a battery attached to it, indicating discharging. Good Luck ;)

Dude, I already have a discharger. I'm just trying to help out b_p. BTW, what kind of charger is it and how are you so sure it does a good dischsarging job? One LED is NOT going to be sufficient for discharging...
