People have recommended the Novak Super Rooster for using with a Ni-Mh battery. They say this because a Rooster and Super Rooster have a regulator. This "***** " the same amout of voltage of a Ni-Mh as a Ni-Cd. For stock racing that is a great feature. The only problem is is that i dont want a novak rooster or super rooster. I want a LRP 7.1 or LRP SR. Possibly even a tekin G-10 ESC. Does anyone out there know of a ESC that also has a regulator or something that works the same as one? LRP has an "active current limiter" on the 7.1 and others, does that do the same thing? or is it different. Thank you for helping me out guys, and gals.

Tell those guys to run their real cars OUTSIDE the garage.

Any ESC will work just fine with ANY batteries and types.

ok hpi guy, but will i notice a lose of "punch" or top speed? with a ni-mh? or will it be the same as a ni-cd?

thanks

You will notice less "punch" with a stock motor, but mod motors are so fast you can barely tell, if you can tell at all. Top speed is gunna be the same though with longer run times. It's a trade off, more run time, or a little more punch.

I believe if you want the most possible power going to your motor from your batts choose an ESC with a LOWER number for the resistance rating. That tells you how efficient the ESC is.

ok rcman do you know if the LRP 7.1 and SR have really low resitance. I would like to know a very low resistance ESC.

thanx

Omnimodels website and, I think Towers also, will tell you the specs of alot of the ESC's. Just clicl on the ESC's name and it will tell you.
Check out this link to see the specs for the 7.1: http://www2.omnimodels.com/cgi-bin/woi0001p.pgm?Q=1&I=ASCM8069&P=7 that is Omnimodels website. I just typed "speed control" in the search box and it brought up a huge list of ESC's.

Oh yeah, the 7.1 has very low resistance as does most competition esc's. .00052 is very low.

you will notice a little bit of less punch with the ni-mh's because they have less voltage then ni-cd's
