hey guys......

was digging thru some stuff i had in storage , and low and behold, i found a BRAND NEW Trinity Green Machine 2 !

never had a screw turned into it. So, do i put this in my drifter, or do i just shelf it? what do you think?

wish the sticker didnt have that scuff on it :( :(

WOW those things are....REALLY old....i consider the machine 3 old but this...wow...

Personally i would shelf it...though i dont have a "shelf o' rc stuff"...but then again its prob not worth much as noone really wants old motors....do they?

Drive it till it's worn out then shelf it. lol. Just my opinion, but it's not like a motor is ever going to be worth any money. And it'll be in better shape after a life in a drifter than it would in an off-road vehicle anyway :p

hard to beleive but with the ammount of stuff available to the public any motor can be maitnained to live for ever....

As long as the windings dont butn out, the comm can be replaced, yes thats right, there are Comm plates which are soldered onto the comm when it gets too small...

On top of that you can Zap your magnets to keep them at full strength and oviously the brushes can be replaced...bushings are also pretty easy to replace...

so the only things that could actually wear that would mean a new motor would be cheaper would be the actual armature shaft...but thats rolled steel...good luck going through them :P :teacher:

LOL . . "off the shelf" about 13 years ago (see "94.") I must have gone through about 20 of them back in the day, something told me to throw two in a drawer and never open them, and there they sit. BTW I still have some good GM's I still run, and even still have one 36 degree pink can but no buggies to run it in any more. :D That would sure be a keeper NIB, they don't make those stock any more (everyone kept over gearing them and saying they sucked 'cause they burned up lol . . . )
