I marked the outside of my LST2 baja beetle body with a black sharpie, and didn't realize it didn't have a clear overspray film till after I did it. Why doesn't it have an overspray film!? Anyway, can anyone tell me how to safely remove it? Thanks

IPA (Isopropal alcohol) and a little elbow grease is the safest way that I know. IPA won't damage the plastic at all. You probably have some in your medicine cabinet.

I'm painting it now. I drew the pattern on the outside, then realized I wanted to do something different. I just wiped all the shapie off and layed the first coat of green. It's going to be a simple paint job. All green metallic body, white hood and one yellow door. And alot of stickers. Should look pretty dopey when it's done. :D

Yeah some Sharpies are worse than others. If you use one of those "super permanant" ones, it will still come off with IPA but you have to put some effort into it.

Damn, I suck at doing bodies lol, Oh well here's the beater beetle hahaha
I used metallic green and black. Daytona yellow door. All rattle cans. And I used a black sharpie on the lines outside the body :p

Some denatured alcohols contains toluene and it can damage lexan and plexi. You just have to read the container to see what it's denatured with.

I simply dab a little fuel on a rag, wipe, and off the Sharpie goes. Some may say it'll eat the lexan, but I havn't had any problems.

White hood would have done that.. just like the old days of finding any part to keep the bug running. I loved the 1969 Super bug, w/ the 1600 man that was fun..

Just use windex to take the sharpie off, works great, and everyone has it in their house.

I use Ace Hardware generic denatured alky and it comes off fine and leaves no damage IF....IF you don't leave it puddled on there. If you get crazy ans really wet it, and let it flash dry off, it will leave little circles ans spots in the lexan, so a barely damp paper towel is what I use, with good results.
