my charger just blew up, i was charing my third and fina battery and a capaciter just exploded, i know that cause i took it apart and looked inside, the thing still trickle charges and half bum( would say the a word but it would get cut out) peak charges. can i just put a new capaciter in there?
and what would be a new good charger for like 50 or 60 bucks?

i forgot to ask what kinda charger you got. also Dynamite sells a nice charger for about $40, it's a peak charger w/built in cooling fan, 1 or 4 amp charge rate that you can select... i own one... it's really good

in capaciter u mean fuse right?

if it was the fuse then just replace it.. thats what the fuse is for.. I had proly about 3 pop on my Teken charger. and it still charges my Full sized car batties in 20mins.

oh and get the same fuse rating as the one that blew.

That's weird. I have the Apex Sigma Plus and I've charged over 8 batteries in a row on it with no probs. I even left the battery charge/discharge cycle on all night with no probs. There's no fan on your charger? I think the warranty is void cause you opened the charger.

I have a brand new Duratrax Intellipeak Charger that blew up the second time I used it. I sent it in and they fixed it, but the thing still false peaks alot. I am pretty ****** at it and them. I think that they have some serious problems with that line.

i agree...The Intellipeak charger leaves all of my batteries warm, so I need to cool them with a fan while charging...even in like 70 degree weather, and super low humidity...I dont like my charger. ALWAYS USE A FAN TO COOL YOUR BATTERIES!!! Otherwise they will get super warm...do this especially with the NiMH batteries. It is a good idea to also install 12 guage wire and Deans Ultra plugs...keeps everything running cool. You will have to use a reamer or hobby knife to slightly enlarge the two holes were the charge leads go through. This i have noticed, keeps the charger running cool.

Well i own a intellipeak deluxe charger... and mine works perfect... im not trying to brag or anything for those who have the same model... true maybe you did get a rotten egg charger... but i think alot people have been buyin that model mostly... i'm sure most of you heard that Novak is coming out with the Ionic Peak Charger... it charges NiMH & NiCd cells... and i think Novak is best known for it's products... so in the mean time i'll just use my duratrax and wait for Novak's Ionic to come out :D i think it'll cost around $125-$150... somewhere aound there. there's also another charger that is cool... it's from dynamite... called the "Mega Peak" you can either charge at 1 amp or 4 amp; receiver packs or NiCd, but not NiMH... although i charged my NiMH on that charger, nothin went wrong... the charger features after 45 min of charging the charger shuts off... it also has a built in cooling fan... i got that charger also it's cool  well i hope that helps in some way later people ;)
