Hey. I just bought a Parkzone Fw-190. I have been flying a aerobird challenger for a long time. I was looking for something that looked good, flys well, is stable(kind of), and kind of fast. lol I was wondering if there was any mods-like with the challenger- I should do and if there was any flying tips you guys have. I would like to here about you experences flying the fw-190.

I have a sugestion as far as tips go. Read through some past posts in Park and Backyard Flyers. There is a lot of info for the P-51, you can use for your FW-190. Takeoff is critical as the will torque roll and crash hard on launch if you apply to much power, so use 1/2 or so power and climb up slowly until you are used to this plane. You will now be flying with elerons and no rudder, so the plane will turn and dive, not flat turn like you are used to. Turn very slow and apply a little up at the same time. When you charge your battery, after it appeard charged, unplug for a few minutes, then reconnect, this will top off a new battery that may quit charging at 80%.Good luck and blue sky.

Thanks. I think I will launch on WOT because i'm using stock batterys and I've heard that the FW is underpowered. I was told that if I raised the alerons 1/16", it would make the plane stall at the wing root instaed of the tip. This is inportant because the ailerons will still work in a stall and the plane will not cartwheel, instead it will "mush" downward. Do to the wing shape, the plane will stall at the wing tip and bank off to one side. The aerobird challenger does kinda pitch down a little in turns....

Okay, so I got a little excited today and jumped the gun. Today was the first flight of the PZ 190. I had completed the pre flight, everything looked good except for my flight. I put it to full throttle just like the directions say, I pointed her into the wind (10 mph or so) gave it a toss, and it went straight up, pitched left and what remained was a plane that suddenly had two halves of a fuesalage, a cracked wing, bent prop shaft, and my friends saying "that sucks," and "that was a quick flight". Back to what I said, I got a little to excited. The wind was to much I had the sun in my eyes, and I did throw it to much in the air. Throw it level!!!!!!!!!!!!! :teacher: or with just a bit of upward pitch, I was trying to do that, except I did a little to much. Don't get overanxious to fly the 190 it is tempermental and could cause a broken heart. Use caution and be patient. I am sure that this is a good plane and is fun to fly let me know how it goes. Good Luck

Guys, like I suggested, go to the middle of page two in this forum, there are P-51 and 190 articles that offer horror stories and great info. Most crashes are the first or second launch, 'full throttle climb, 20 feet, left stall, parts and pieces'. Learn from these mistakes and keep your planes from going the way of thier fullsize brethren, (the scrap yard). Don't let that big gear driven prop drive you to pieces on day one.

Thats how I learned to fly guys. Crash it and toss it again. I hear a lot about that stall on take off. Do any of you guys run with the plane a little? I do that with the aerobird till I can feel it lifting up. Is there any way to launch better?
