I was wondering if it is better to built your own batteries or to buy those that are prebuilt. Is there any difference in performance. Thanks.

pre-built batteries- Typically lower voltage cells, not matched for run times.... But, they are usually built really well, so they can take some abuse without one of the cells coming loose
loose cells- these are normally matched and zapped cells, that tend to cost more... they will almost certainly give you more run time and higher voltages..... but you have to solder these together yourself.... if you don't have a pretty good iron, or if you arent very good at soldering, you may not want to just go ahead and buy pre-built packs....
if you are not a racer, pre-builts will work fantastic for you.... if you are a novice racer... once again, pre-builts rock... if you are an A or B main guy, that is good at soldering, you would definately want to go with loose cells...
peace out.... :)

I would think he knows the difference between matched and stick packs. So I think he means which is better: 6 loose cells or an assembled, matched side x side pack (which Trinity offers).

You can usually get cells with the same numbers cheaper unassembled rather than assembled. There is no performance disadvantage to assembling them yourself if you take your time and do a good job.

Yep, so it'll be cheaper in the long run to build them yourself (no at first, because you have to buy a battery building jig).
