I am looking at a used Jammin X1-RTR with some FT parts and a Ninja motor(bump start). The jammin is at my local hobby shop and I trust their judgement as far as it working. They do not warranty the motor. The owner said that their is about 1/2 gallon run through it. The buggy is in good shape a few scratches here and there from the track. The price is $400. I am not too keen on buying used. I have seen used cars fail at a bad rate. What is everything thinking about this?

Thanks,

Mike

if I was to buy a used car, I would look it over throughly, make sure nothing is lose, binds, worn out, or is dirty. My lhs doesn't sell used cars. That sounds like a good deal though, good luck with it.

1/2 gallon means that the engine was broken in, and only had 2-3 tanks through it after the break in process.. I can't imagine this is true.

I am gonna look at it again during lunch. I will look with much more detail this time.

Generally, I wouldn't think a LHS would sell something used if they weren't sure themselves. I would ask if you could drive it around for a tank or so, see how it performs. Also, ask who they're selling it for. If you know who owned it before, then you might be bale to get a better idea how well it was maintained.

I know my LHS looks over EVERYTHING they put in their for sale case. Ive bought cars from them and had no issues. I highly doubt a hobby shop is going to put some crap car in their case if they know that it is going to cause troubles.

The lhs guy I talked to said "I should not have any problems" .. I know buying new is alot of money.. and even if the motor goes.. I can get another one.. but the price seems good.. and it is a jammin.. so I know the product is good... decisions decisions..

i wouldnt buy it for one reason, its a Jammin buggy. i raced a Jammin X1 CRT truggy all summer and did farley well too. but then one of my buddies let me drive his jammin buggy, and the handeling was IDENTICAL!!!!!!! you dont want a buggy that handels like a truggy. right after i drove my buds jammin buggy, another bud let me drive a SHO buggy. the SHO buggy is an RTR NEW for like $250 or something and it was WAY better. it SMOKED the jammin buggy. it was so much quicker, faster, agile, and handeled so much better. it was like night and day difference. i think everyone knows how the CRT pushes, well guess what, so does the CR buggy. i would stick to a good brand for a buggy like Mugen, Kyosho, or every try the Losi 8, i have heard AMAZING things about the Losi 8.

just my 2 cents
