They'd have to come out with someting soon. Those AE blocks must be pack'n their dacks with all these XXX'es around. And with Hirosaka not racing anymore, they'll have to find someone else to drive for them and a better car scince no1 can catch Hirosaka.

It should be prototyped for the Worlds and soon after that be out on the market. the B4 will probablally come out first then the T4. That is what I heard.

What does RCCA know about a proposed B4? They've been awfully quiet during these discussions. I for one would like to see it come to pass. I would like a quality 4WD buggy.

I heard from a couple of guys at my LHS that the T4 and the B4 are going to have the same steering-rack concept as the TC3. Would that be good or not?

The editors were, and when I was talking to them at the Chicago Hobby Shop, they always seemed to change the topic.....

Ooh, it must be a conspiracy. Face it guys, we're not going to know until AE wants us to know.

yeah AE is like the CIA when it comes to anouncing stuff. We wont know anything until they decide to tell us. Unless some one breaks in AE dangles from the ceiling by some ropes (mission impossiple 1) and gets the NOC list of cars, we wont know anything.

Just in case anyone was curious, Associated is not obligated in ANY form or fashion to tell anyone of their future product plans. In fact, in any other market MOST people understand that new product development is something a manufacturer keeps very quiet for competitive reasons. For some reason many RC peeps almost expect manufacturers in the RC industry to send a personal fax or email when they start development of a new product (including weekly updates). I'm sure they're working on something, but they're not going to tip their hand until they it can't be avoided. It's only smart business. http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

My big question is WHY do they need a new car ?
The B3 positively owns you. I love the B3.
I agree with Steve (basically saying the manafacturer can do or say whatever in the heck they want, so what ?), but it is simply good marketing to elude to future products (assuming there are real plans). It gets people interested, it steals some wizbang from the competition, and it delays consumer purchases of competing products. Big industry businesses use this tactic all the time (ever heard the term "vaporware" ?).
This, however, is one of my favorite things about AE: they are true to the hobby.
I guess I am arguing against myself here, but I thought I would throw a few ramblings into the mix ;)

What's the official website for the Worlds? I remember seeing it in RCCA, but I can't find that issue.

What association is the worlds?
IFMAR: http://www.ozemail.com.au/~ifmar/
NORRCA: http://www.norrca.com/
ROAR: http://www.roarracing.com/

The IFMAR Worlds is sanctioned by (drum roll) IFMAR. http://members.ozemail.com.au/~ifmar/

Masami won 2wd and 4wd at the warm-up race, but his only real competition was Jukka.

AE definetly has something up their hands...they are asking people on their website to see what updates they would like on the B3 and T3. This means AE will soon start shipping Nitro TC3. I called them up, they said they are finishing the Nitro TC3, and right after that they would see what they can do for the B3 and T3. So, look out for the AE Nitro TC3...in a year, the B3 and T3 should debute. Maybe later this year...notice a lot of AE features find their way to Losi cars? Jean, keep your mouth shut!! LOL...just kidding guys...but (AE) did have the foam dust covers!!

Foam dust covers? Yeah, those are amazing. I can't believe Losi copied such a crucial design element from AE.

Guess what, Steve? They have a picture of trucks lined up to race on the official site. But that still doesn't mean they'll race them at the worlds, huh?

SirSpeedy

If you are talking about the foam rings that go around the ballstuds, then you are wrong.

Losi debuted the "Foam Things" on the Jrx Pro SE in '91.

Nairb, they probably club race trucks in Petoria, and maybe even at the warm-up race, but it is not IFMAR class.

Yeah, that was my thinking, SS. I was still surprised to even SEE trucks there, though. I know I love mine, though...

Guys, we might have a little proof now.In the latest issue of xtremerc magizine , issue 6.8 june 2001 i quote from rumor mill
"Team associated was testing a possible b4 at times during the cactus classis in scottsdale, arizona. Our reporter mike henry tried to get a close up look at the prototype but was ushered off into a dark room by team associated security. If history is any indicaterof the future, expect to see a kit debut for the worldss later this year in south africa."

So what do you guys think?
