Anything 540 sized should fit. You may be able to put a longer canned 550 motor in there for way more torque too, or you could simply go with a high turn, hand wound modified motor. What ESC (if any) are you running? That's the first step in determining what kind of motors you can run.

The wiper-style speed control has its limits. You'll probably want to upgrade to an electronic speed control and consider a mild modified motor. The milder motors have more torque that the "hot" motors and with teh limited racing of gearing options available for that truck (Big Boss possibly), you really should stay with something that is 17 turns or more. The stock motor isn't a fireball, so a 17T would be quite a bit faster and would work well with that truck.

I thought it was a Kyosho Double Dare, or is that practically the same as a Big Boss (never head of a Big Boss, so I dunno).
Agreed on the mild modified motor and upgrading to an ESC.
(How's Kyosho btw? Got any free stuff for any of your pals here at RCZ?:D:D)

i installed the team orion core stock and my car went slowly and the battery goes down in 30sec! :o
is this because of my esc? or the motor sucks?

Probably because your batteries and/or charger suck. :) I have that same chassis and it's geared very low. So, it'll be hard to make it go very fast.

Get rid of the MSC you have now (and get an ESC). Your batteries are probably toast too.

Get rid of the mechanical speed control you have then. Borrow (if you can) an ESC from someone and see if that makes a difference. Check all of your wiring and connections as well. If something's shorting out, then that's going to be a problem.
I suspect your batteries are the main culprit, which aren't being helped at all by the mechanical speed control you're running (the Core stock motor is going to be more powerful than your lemans motor, so that could be another factor to consider).

I have some news!
I bought a ESC Jamara Profi HF-30 and i mount it on my monster truck, but when i accelerate foward the led becomes red! If i´m running foward and reverse quickly he do is job but when i´m running backward and reverse to foward he stops , bip and then go foward slowly! :(
My car sucks! :(
