watch YOUR car while you are driving. Even if it looks like the other guy is about to reck, keep your eyes on YOUR car. Thats what i shoulda done last time i raced.... THUNKed into the wall tho.. Costed me 9 bucks, and a few min. to change an A-arm.

stay in the groove, or racing line, no matter how slow you have to go, and if you are being lapped by a leader, let him by, nuthin like a lapper to mess up a perfect race.
Make a list of what you need to take, and make sure you get them all, i once left my motor at home(30 minutes away, believe it or not)

Practice at your racetrack, and practice a-lot.

If you have a few tracks around your region, go to each of them and try setting your car up for each different track. When you start to become more conssitant, try playing with the anti-squat and washers under the ball-studs and all that kind of stuff.

Dont listen to what other poeple think all the time, (I know some of them are right about what they say) but if your in doubt about which shock oils to run, what tires, and running your motors in. TRY IT! try it for yourself thats the best way to learn I reckon. Happy racing

Think of it this way- Slow is fast. Period. Unless you are an outstanding driver who can hustle a car around quickly on a track, you're going to go slower. My fastest ever runs have been where I'm a lap ahead of everyone else in the B-main because I got squished out of the A and there's no pressure so you just drive and get awsome times. Always think of it like your car is the only one on the track. When you get near someone who is trying to pass you just hold your line in the center of the track and keep tight in the corners unless they squeak their nose in because if you cut them off, your car will be in the wall, not theirs. Always let the top position cars by if they are lapping you, it's easiest to take a turn wide and they put a good clean pass on you and you don't lose much time either. Most of all, just drive smooth. Easy on the gas, easy off, with smooth and just turned enough to get around the turn.

A lot of new guys are either full throttle or no throttle and full steering or no steering. It's great to realize the value of partial throttle and partial steering. Don't just crank the wheel all the way and let go so it will rebound to center by itself. You're driving, be smooth. The key is to be as smooth as possible. That helps you keep speed and not to waste it sliding. Get to know your trigger and use its variable throw to your advantage.

NairB is very right, I see so many newbies who punch the throttle and full steering and end up spinning out in the same spot. I diagree with gubbs though. If you are way ahead of the field in first, you have noone to challenge you so then you will be driving at your own pace. I am 1 of these people who always pulls away in the first few laps and has noone around. This is not really anygood to you because if someone else was to get ahead of you, you probably wont catch them case your not used to catching some1. This happens to me sometimes and when it does, I become more agressive and sometimes crash because I'm not used to catching people. You have to remember that you dont go straight to the front in a race. You have to work your way there by catching and passing others without taking yourself or some1 else out. If you can do that well, then your a good driver.
