How do you adjust the slipper clutch on the RC10T3 and how do you know if it's correctly adjusted? 2) I own the RTR version, so it came with a Reedy 20T piece of poop motor. I don't race, I just drive around for my own personal amusement (mostly in parking lots, or some off-roadish terrain, when I can find it) and I'm looking for a motor that will give me some added top speed, but not somethig modified, something stock that won't kill my batteries in 5 minutes flat. Oh yeah, one more question....I use a Dynamite Vision Peak charger and Sanyo 1700 cells. Should my packs get hot when I charge them? At what rate should I charge them, 4 amps or 2 amps? Thanks a million for your help, it's greatly appreciated!

Agent ~ I just adjusted my T3 slipper until it had the acceleration i wanted.

for a motor just get a stock... trinity p2k, reedy rage type-r, reedy mvp, trinity gm3,... the list goes on and on.

i have a vision charger also and my packs get hot too. don't worry about it. put a fan blowing directly on it while it charges.. i have done this. and a lot of other people have too.

i use 4 amps... i just know that 2 charges TOO slow.

adjust the locknut on the end of the spur gear to adjust the slipper. Loosen it to the end, then hit the throttle, and see how much it slips, and just tighten till you are happy with it.

As for motors, I have tried MVP and P2K pro's, I race stock and I like the P2K pro. It won't drain the battery real fast, but has good speed and torque. 20/87 gives good overall performance, and everything stays cool, I race with 20/84 and motor and battery get a bit warm, so for bashing, I would not recommend it, since you will be pushing the truck even harder, in worse terrain.

As for charging, battery is supposed to get warm when done, not hot. Chargers without fans tend to get very hot even after charging one battery. It is good to put a fan on the charger, but NOT the battery. Keep the battery away from the fan!!! If you keep the battery cool, then there is a slight chance of over peaking the battery. I have been told this by countless people, including a person the matches and sells batteries for a living.

there are two schools of thought on slippers.... some guys simply adjust them real tight and use throttle control... and others, like myself, use the slipper as a tuning aid for slick tracks...

if your slipper is too tight, your tires will throw a big roost of dirt off the starting line and your truck will be very hard to control (plus, you may damage your tranny)... if it is too loose, it won't throw any dirt at all, it will slip all the way around the track, making your truck really slow....

idealy, you want your slipper to keep your tires from spinning and throwing up dirt for the first foot off the starting line... once your truck is past the one foot mark, your slipper should lock up and you should be able to see your rear wheels spinning up dirt...

about charging....

i would use a 4 amp rate with your cells... and they shouldn't get much more than slightly warm (but not hot) to the touch when fully peaked.....

peace out.... :)

Thanks for the help! Now if I can just figure out why my truck is faster in reverse and how I can fix it, I'll be all set! ;)
