i am planning on using custom 2200's, but before i get them, are 3000's any good, and what esc and motor do u use with themm? i am planning(if i get the 3000's) to use a novak cyclone, and a reedy fury millenium wing mod. on my t3 or xxx-t.
thanks, justin
If you get the NiMh batteries (i.e.3000s), you need a special charger that can actually charge them. To tell you the truth though, for your T3 racing (T3. hint, hint), or if you really want it XXX-T, you need more uumph to get your truck around. 3000s, while they last longer, they dont have as much power to get you around the track faster. If you're having problems with run time, then I would recommend the 3000, or a higher wind mod, assuming your charger can handle them. Personally, I like the 2400's http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/smile.gif

Basically, because 3k's don't have the umph, they need more motor. And when they get more motor, they get less run time. So it's the same run time and umph then a 2000 or 2400 with a little less motor. Know what I mean? http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/smile.gif

Well, I use SMC 3000's and I can run with the 2400's no problem with my XXXT. I usually use anywhere from a 10-13D. For 4WD offroad 3000's are the best I've found. And I've raced mine for 1 whole season HARD and no problems at all. They get better on the 2-3 run of the day also. I just charge them at 5 amps linear and when they are warm they are done ( 40 minutes) with a regular peak charger. Bring them down to 5.4 volts after your done and leave them till the next week.
Thats pretty simple maintanance if you ask me. Just get your system down for charging and discharging and keep it the same cause thats what batteries like.
