View Full Version : First run ever....
I am very new to the RC world...I always wanted to put together a car when I was younger, and I finally got my chance. My first kit is a HPI RS4 Sport 2. It was easy to put together and I thought that would be the most fun part. I took it outside today and got ready for my first trial run...I had so much fun!! Without sounding too cheesy, I had a blast racing around by myself.
I'm nowhere near good, but I can't wait to race around some more. I had a tough time controlling at first, but I'm hooked! I now have to convince my friends to invest in a RC car, so we can race! Anyways, I just wanted to share this with you guys, who've probably been racing for a long time. Remember that first time you cracked a smile watching your first RC car speed in circles?? I'm charging my battery while I write this, hopefully I can squeeze in one more run before it gets dark, and before my wife thinks I'm crazy! http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/smile.gif

Its probably to late... she probably thought you were crazy when you bought it.<G> Ive been doing the car/truck thing for 13yrs and still get that smile. When you stop getting that smile then worry.
Yeah, R/C is great. I remember putting my unpainted plastic body on my Rustler, and driving it in my basement. I thought it was ballistic, and then I got my GT. Every time (except for my Losi kit) I finished a car, or looked at the box when I got it, I got this weird look on my face that made my parents look worried. Then they had to drop $600 into the car to get it working, and now my parents hate it. Needless to say, I have to pay for everything, and im not getting anything for C-Mas http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/frown.gif <sniffle, sniffle> stupid GT, lol. Its gunna be snowing outside, bright and sunny, everyone happy opening gifts with pictures being taken, everyone happy with joy from gifts and cheerful, and I wont get anything...Well, life ummm stinks right about now, and on C-Mas is gunna be boring. Im not liking myself right now, let me get over it; which I never will, <sniffle> <sniffle> <SNEEZE> <sniffle> <sniffle>. Well, i'll buy an E-Maxx with my faded $5 bills from relatives I dont even know with cards that looked like they were given to them for C-Mas 30 years ago. I love this hobby, and I need about 2 more grand to finish all the hop-ups for my E-Maxx, life wont be OK till I get 14.4 volts running through my fingers.

Im first R/C is a truck that was given to me by a friend. Its an MRC Ironman....don't laugh i know its not a Losi or anything. Well since i was 15 at the time it took me about a year to finish it. Pro-Line body, the whole 9 yards. Well since now its done and i have been racing for 2 years or so iv had nothing but joy from the truck. For awhile i felt that since it was an oldie i would **** when it goes out on the track. But when it finaly was finished and when a lil bit or racing behind my belt it was smoken some Losi's. To this date i still race it and is the only truck iv had. I plan on getting a Losi, but im not to sure. If the smile ever goes away when your racing or even playing around, you better get your head checked...lol..j/k
