I've heard alot of talk about the damage that sand does to an RC and keeping that in mind I still would like to run mine down the beach from time to time. What would be the best way to protect my precious stadium truck from being burried in sand?
I've read a few things about getting a plastic bag and putting it arround your whole chassis and tucking it into the gaps between the engine/exhaust etc. But this method seems very "flimsy" seeing as the plastic bag would probably melt to the heatsink and exhaust and cause all sorts of annoying and messy problems...
My idea would be to use a plasic bottle eg a coke bottle and cut it out so that it fits over the top of the centre diff/spur gear/flywheel and brake etc. my front/rear diffs are sealed so they should be fine. Oh and tape the bottom holes in the chassis for the flywheel and slipper clutch etc?
Is there anything special that I'd need to do to stop the damage that sand can cause? (Obviously cleaning and oiling after every run is a must)...
