what is faster and more exciting, a 1/10 2wd .12 stadium truck or a 1/8 4wd .28 truggy?

get the stadium truck, not the inbred crossed up mess (truggy).

depends on what you want to do. If you want to race, well still depends. Need a little more info about what you want to do with it before we can advise.

for me its buggy...I mean I have 1/10 scale but yet not NEARLEY the fun of the buggy...buggy is much more durable IMO and just as fast or faster, and any mroe you can get a buggy for the same price as a ST truck.

What are YOU wanting to do with it?
race? bash? pick your nose? jump? flat out speed?

tranny, I assume you have done all of those??? betcha the nose picking was the best of all of them.

as far as the actual question posted, I would lean towards the .28 powered stuff because the larger engines in my opinion are more forgiving as far as heat and tuning issues are concerned. The fact that you are asking about 2wd or 4wd makes me want to ask... track or no track? Tracks will allow you to enjoy a 2wd vehicle more whereas 4wd can be used more places and will generally have more ground clearance. Get the truggy, buy buggy wheels and body and have the best of both worlds if you intend to race and bash.

1/8 scale all the way! I have a Jato that I have had for a while now and I got a buggy last month and it is great. 4-wheel drive makes it way faster off road and it stops on a dime, whereas the stadium truck is 2-wheel drive so it only has rear breaks. The buggy is also way more durable.

A stadium truck will teach you how to drive. They are the hardest and least forgiving with a poor throttle finger. The buggies/ truggies have more acceleration, but as far as top speed goes, both are about the same. BUT, if the buggy/ truggy accelerates faster it is usually going faster on a straight, UNLESS its a long straight where the Stadium truck can get going full speed also. The question you are asking points toward a buggy/ truggy.

well to answer the questions on what i want to do, the car will just be run on a homemade track with a few buddies on the weekends. i've always liked stadium trucks but if i can have a better experience with the truggy i'll go that route. i'm looking for something that will be durable and fast over a racing surface with a couple major jumps.

Lol, well, then sounds like you would be happy with either. Now if your running with a few friends, might as well try to stay in the same class they are in. No use trying to run a Stadium truck with a Truggy, and vice versa.

I agree with Rezen...try to stay within the same class. One other reason for that is that STs are much lighter and not as durable...if a Trug hits ya, yer likely gonna break. Generally speaking, a 4wd will be much easier to drive. Ive heard a LOT! of people say, regarding STs, that the reason they're not so popular on the local racing level is because they are more difficult to drive. People round my parts also have stated that driving an ST will really help to teach throttle control as you have to learn to be very patient and use finesse with them.

Truggies are also way more expesive purely becuase they are bigger, and also the 4w like said before is very forgiving, and in a way it makes it more fun (and populer), so if you wanna race (and have fun) definitely for with Truggies or buggies

I raced them all, 1/10 will make a driver. I love UL monster truck and had more fun in that class then any other. On a tight track they are a bit harder to pass but very fun.
