What is the best 4200MaH 6 cell 7.2v battery pack to get for my Traxxas Rustler.
I currently have a Duratrax 4200 6cell 7.2v battery pack but I am not sure if it is working properly.
I also have a Prophet Plus charger. Is this a good charger?
Since I am a newbie I bought what was recommended to me by the store attendants.

The best 4200 battery would be the ib4200's. The DTX cells are not the best quality.

yeah go with some team VIS-Pro ib4200 cells...they are amazing, and they never have any charge issues (as long as you charge them CORRECTLY)

Any charger that can, discharge, charge probly up to atleast 4 or 5 amps, and has like peak detection. U dont need a great charger to charge a batteir well. Just need to know how to take care of it.

look into superbrain 959's they are only like 40-50 buxx and they do much further above 5amps. but they do have a cult following them around for some reasons, i dont know why :D.

The 959 only goes to 4.5 amps.

.... lol i just sold mine so i could get a 989, but you really shouldnt need to go over 4.5 anyway, thats what i charge my 4200's at, once again, takes like 45 mins.

VIS-pro is a cell conditioning technique that Trinity does. You don't need a Trinity pack to get good cells.

Check out www.offshoreelectrics.com and similar places. Others that come to mind include Promatch Racing, Ballistic Batteries, and Maxamps. Promatch matches most of their packs, the other places not so much. Maybe Ballistic does, not sure. Anyways, you can get an assembled pack from any of the above places and many others I didn't mention. If you're just bashing then a matched pack may not be worth it. The performance difference won't be that huge. Up to you though.
