Oh oh! Had a problem with the cheapy Radio Shack 2000mah I bought. First off, I took it apart and config'ed it into a side by side. Fully discharged it, and then charged it up on my cheapy Duratrax charger. Took a good charge, and ran my 12 turn Trinity Gold for 7 mins before dumping. BUT, it was hotter than HOT! So I let it cool, discharged, and about 3 hours later I went to charge it again... it popped and hissed at me, but took a charge, and discharged ok again. Kinda scared to charge it again!! Anyone else have their cells pop and hiss while charging?

Well, you ruined one or more of the cell(s) in your pack. That popping and hissing is what happens when your cells vent hydrogen gas. The cell(s) may still be useable but I wouldn't expect much out of them and not for very long.
Take better care of your batteries!

The cells vented their gasses.
You're lucky they still charged.
The cells won't last much longer under those circumstances.

Actually, I take great care of my batteries. My other 1500 pack hasn't had a problem yet! So, maybe I got a bad pack... I'm sure they were old. That's why they were so cheap I guess! http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/smile.gif
Thanks for the info.
