Belt or Shaft?

I currently own an RS4 Pro II and my brother owns a team TC3. They seem to do about the same at the track compared to each other, but I still think there has to be advantages. So what's better? belt or shaft driven cars?

shaft is more efficent because there are less gears to turn.Although belt is also good because in some cases it is lighter.Shaft is more durable than belts that wear out and stretch.
